The Independence County Library is located at 267 East Main Street, in the historic Barnett Building. and local women's clubs opened a public library in the Batesville High School for adults and children. In 1948 the Independence County Library was formally established. Carpenter Building, the library m

oved to its current location in 2018. The Independence County Library provides programs and services to the residents of Independence County. It is governed by a five-member library board. The board of trustees and the library staff believe that the right to read and the right of free access to the collection for all persons are essential to the intellectual freedom that is basic to democracy. The Independence County Library is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in access, education, and employment. The Library does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, s*x, s*xual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, ancestry, or national or ethnic origin.

Join us for our next FREE paper crafting class at the library. We will be learning how to make flap journals and cards. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend. So, come alone or bring your friends with you and let's craft together!

NOTE: this class is on the THIRD FLOOR, so please take the elevator up to the 3rd floor and follow the hallway to the Pink Room in the corner (you can't miss us).

These classes are free and supplies are provided by our generous library. You take home only what you make in the class.
