We meet on Tuesday every week at noon at the Panola Country Club -225 Country Club Dr. If interested, please drop in and join us for lunch and fellowship. The Batesville Rotary Club welcomes you to get involved with business and professional leaders, representing a multitude of vocations in our community. We strive to

provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards and foster goodwill and friendship throughout the world - beginning right here in Panola County. We support and participate in a variety of community projects, provide charitable grants to several other local organizations, and lead many youth-oriented projects.

Today, the Rotary Club of Batesville was pleased to welcome Hunt Howell as our guest speaker!

Hunt is a Batesville native and local business owner who is dedicated to his customers and continually supports our community. He shared valuable insight into the important role local pharmacies play, along with the many challenges they currently face—including government regulations, rising operating costs, insurance reimbursements, and other issues affecting independent pharmacies.

Thank you, Hunt, for educating us on these important matters and for your continued commitment to your customers and our community. We are grateful to have local business owners like you serving Batesville! 💊

💙💛 Rotary Club of Batesville — Another Great Meeting! 💛💙

We had the pleasure of welcoming Stafford Shurden, owner of Stafford Market & Deli, as our guest speaker today!

Stafford brought such a positive and inspiring message to our club, especially for business owners, community leaders, and anyone striving to make a difference in the place they call home. We truly enjoyed his energy, positive communication, and the encouragement he shared with us.

If you’re traveling through the Mississippi Delta, you’ve got to make a stop at Stafford Market & Deli! Stafford is also a wonderful food reviewer, so we hope he had a chance to visit a few of our amazing places while he was in town. We’re pretty proud of what our community has to offer! ❤️🍴

The Rotary Club of Batesville was proud to recognize two outstanding students as our Students of the Month!

We always enjoy the opportunity to recognize the exceptional young people in our community and hear from the teachers and coaches who have watched them work hard, lead, and grow.

Congratulations, Charlie and Logan! We are proud of you and look forward to seeing all that your futures hold. Thank you to Ms. Bailey and Coach Hulse for joining us and helping us celebrate these deserving students!

💙 Great things are happening in Batesville!

This week, the Rotary Club of Batesville had the privilege of hearing from Katie Azar with Batesville Main Street, and WOW—the information she shared was exciting! There are some BIG things happening in our community, and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead.

It also cannot go without being said just how much work happens behind the scenes. Our Batesville Main Street team is on top of it every step of the way, working hard to promote, improve, and continue moving our community forward.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to support Batesville Main Street and the work they are doing. Your hard work, dedication, and love for our community do not go unnoticed! 👏❤️

This week, the Batesville Rotary Club had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Del Phillips as our guest speaker.

Dr. Phillips shared valuable insight into the upcoming school year, including planned changes, how schedules are developed, the planning process, and the expectations for students, faculty, and families. It was an informative presentation that gave our members a better understanding of the work that goes into preparing for a successful school year.

We are especially proud that Dr. Phillips is not only an outstanding educational leader but also a fellow Rotarian who is committed to serving our community. We are grateful he chose to return and lead our school system, and we appreciate his dedication to the students, staff, and families of our district.

Thank you, Dr. Phillips, for investing your time with us and for your continued leadership. We look forward to another great school year!

🏈 Yesterday’s Rotary meeting was one for the books!

We had the privilege of welcoming acclaimed sports writer Dr. Keith B. Woods, who took us on a trip back through football history as he shared the story of the Memphis Showboats and discussed his newly published book, “The Memphis Showboats: The USFL Team and the City’s Fight for Major League Status.”

It was a fascinating presentation that reminded us how sports can unite communities and shape a city’s identity. Thank you, Dr. Woods, for sharing your knowledge and passion with us!

Today, the Rotary Club of Batesville had the privilege of taking a step back in time with an incredible presentation by our very own Calvin Flint on the 1976 Batesville Time Capsule. From the people and places to the stories and memories that shaped our community, it was a fascinating look at Batesville’s history and a reminder of how far we’ve come.

A big thank you to Calvin for sharing his knowledge and helping us preserve the stories that make our hometown so special. Programs like today’s are just one of the many reasons we enjoy gathering each week to learn, connect, and serve our community.

We are neighbors helping neighbors. We are business owners, teachers, healthcare workers, retirees, community leaders, and volunteers who all have one thing in common—a desire to make Batesville and Panola County a better place to live.

Rotary is more than a weekly meeting. It’s scholarships for our students, support for local schools, service projects, helping children and families in need, community partnerships, and lending a hand whenever our community calls.
