The Summer Reading Program is Plant A Seed, Read. We started today at Story Hour with Planting A Rainbow by Lois Ehlert. We all practiced cutting safely with scissors, and our rainbows are beautiful!

The Bath Public Library supports the Bath Village School by assisting with research support both in the field and in the classroom. Today we helped students collect data for their outdoor education studies in the Bath Town Forest. What a wonderful morning!

Ladybugs and lots of children visited the Bath Public Library this morning. I know you are thinking they were probably Asian Beetles, like the one's flying around my house. But, we learned about true Ladybugs, what they eat, how long they live, and what they look like when they are born. Ask a Story Hour participant if you would like to learn more, or, we have a nice book about them at the library.

Want to connect with other readers?
The Bath Public Library Book Club will meet on Monday, May 11, at 5:00 PM at the Bath Public Library to discuss The God of the Woods by Liz Moore.
Told from multiple perspectives, The God of the Woods, is a blend of mystery, crime thriller, historical fiction, and family drama, with elements of urban legend!
A counselor discovers Barbara's empty bunk, triggering a search and an investigation that unearths secrets about the powerful family that owns the camp and the surrounding land. Contrasting the wealthy estate with the struggling local town that depends on the family for work, the story investigates class divides, family secrets, privilege, emotional neglect, and the contrast between the "haves" and "have-nots".
Copies of the book are available to borrow at the Bath Public Library. Patrons are encouraged to pick up a copy and participate in what promises to be a thoughtful and engaging discussion. New members are always welcome.
Library hours are Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Thursday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
For more information, contact the Bath Public Library at 603-747-3372 or [email protected].

There's a rumor it's Spring. Story Hour participants explored the water cycle and made light catching clouds and raindrops. Maybe soon we'll be seeing rainbows, sunshine and spring flowers.😊

The Bath Library Book Club will be discussing ā€œThis Is Happinessā€ by Niall Williams on Monday, March 9 at 5:00 pm at the Bath Public Library. Change is coming to Faha, a small Irish parish that hasn’t changed in a thousand years.

Just as Father Coffey proclaims the coming of the electricity, Christy makes his first entrance into Faha, bringing secrets he needs to atone for. Seventeen-year-old Noel Crowe is idling in the sunshine when, though he can't explain it, he knows that something has changed.
As the people of Faha anticipate the endlessly procrastinated advent of the electricity, and Noel navigates his own fallings in and out of love, Christy's past gradually comes to light.

ā€œThis Is Happinessā€ is a tender portrait of a community and a coming-of-age tale like no other. It is about the power of stories: their invisible currents that run through all we do, writing and rewriting us, and the transforming light that they throw onto our world.

Books may be picked up at the Bath Library; hours are Monday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm; Wednesday 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm; Thursday and Saturday 9:00 am to noon. Anyone with an interest in reading and conversing about books is welcome to attend. For information, please contact the library at 603-747-3372 or email [email protected]
