If you or your loved ones are St. John’s voters please be sure to get out and vote yes for this important millage renewal!!

The previous library millage expired in December of 2025; therefore, we need a new operating millage. We are asking for the same .75 mill that we asked for 10 years ago. This is not an additional library millage, it will be the ONLY library millage.

Michigan libraries are quietly saving people hundreds of dollars. You don’t have to be a “book person” to use the library. Just curious.

Things you can borrow from a Michigan library that ARE and AREN’T books:
- audiobooks, readalongs, eBooks & eAudiobooks, graphic novels, large and dyslexic-friendly print books, braille books, magazines, and playaway audiobooks.
- movies, tv shows, documentaries, video games, and music
- various themed kits (from memory care to experiences, to STEM), Library of Things, art, yard and board games, instruments, and tools (varies by library)
- test prep materials on numerous standardized exams from school to civil service

Things you can do at a Michigan library:
- discuss books and movies, anime, Broadway, and more
- meet other parents, students, professional peers, retirees, readers and sports enthusiasts
- browse new and old books
- read multiple picture books to your littles
- genealogy and local history research
- research using nonfiction materials and library databases, such as World Book, Consumer Reports, Language Learning, Auto Repair, Ancestry Library Edition, and more (varies by library)
- study or complete an assignment
- find a new hobby or creative arts
- participate in a community project
- write a business plan, a grant, scholarship application, cover letter or resume, or [add your activity]
- attend a lecture or engage in a social event hosted by the library or a local professional
- discover community resources available nearby
- get tax, legal, or other forms
- learn to play a game or instrument, learn about gardening or an invasive plant, etc...

And so much more.
