Emerald ash borer, an invasive forest pest, threatens ash trees in Bath's urban forest. Join us at Union + Co on April 23 to learn what residents can do to protect their ash trees and what the city is doing to protect our city's street trees.

This session will focus on the threat of emerald ash borer to Bath’s urban forest, the ecological and property value of ash trees, impacts to property owners with infested ash, and ways to maintain the health of your ash trees.

Now is the time to remove easy to reach browntail moth webs from your trees.

Invasive Species Awareness Week: Browntail Moth (Euproctis chrysorrhoea L.) Spotlight.

BTM populations decreased in some areas in 2025 but remain elevated in others. Check trees this winter to see whether your community may be impacted by browntail moth this spring. If you find winter webs, take action to make a difference!

Winter is the best time to spot and manage browntail moth. Look for tightly woven, white silk webs at the tips of oak and apple tree branches. These overwintering webs can contain hundreds of caterpillars, and removing them now can significantly reduce impacts later.
