Recap from an incredible day at the Louisiana State Capitol! ❤️💙

CASA staff, volunteers, board members, and supporters from across the state came together for CASA Day at the Capitol to raise awareness for children in foster care and celebrate the impact of CASA advocacy throughout Louisiana.

We are grateful to the Governor’s Office for officially proclaiming May 27th as CASA Day at the Capitol. The day also included recognition of our 2026 Heart of Advocacy recipient Ja’Nika Stanley and recognized our Executive Director Allison, on her 4-years of service

Thank you to the Louisiana Legislature, Volunteer Louisiana, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, and all who joined us in support of CASA’s mission.

We are a little under a month away until our next CASA Pre-Service Volunteer Training! 💙 On any given day, approximately 450 children in the Baton Rouge area are in foster care. Behind every number is a child who deserves stability, support, and someone committed to standing by their side. You can help make a lasting impact by becoming a CASA volunteer.

May is National Foster Care Month 💙 A time to recognize the strength of children and youth in foster care and the advocates, foster families, and supporters who help change their stories.

Graduation season is a time of celebration, dreams, and new beginnings. 🎓 While many students are walking across the stage, the reality is different for too many children in foster care. Only about 50% of youth in foster care graduate high school by age 18. Every child deserves support, stability, and someone in their corner cheering them on. Together, we can help change that story. 💙

CASA staff, volunteers, board members, and supporters from across Louisiana will come together to raise awareness for children and families involved in the foster care system and highlight the impact of CASA advocacy statewide.

Throughout the day, attendees will connect with legislators, visit local CASA program tables in the Rotunda, participate in a special pinning ceremony, and celebrate an official proclamation recognizing May 27th as “CASA Day at the Capitol.”

We invite you to wear CASA colors, red and blue, and stand with us as we advocate for Louisiana’s children and ensure every child has a voice.
