The Fight for Fair Maps continues ‼️

The House Committee on Governmental Affairs will be hearing SB121 TOMORROW at 9am. This redistricting map reduces our current 4-2 to a 5-1 map, limiting the voting power of Black voters within our state.

We're calling ALL Louisianians to call their representatives NOW and tell them to vote NO during tomorrow's committee hearing! Young Dems, let's continue sending a message to the Capitol πŸ—£οΈπŸ’™

Our Secretary, Ralph Triggs, testifying in front of the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee on Tuesday night.

Right now, SB 121 is being heard in the Senate as we speak. If you share the sentiments of Mr. Triggs in this video, NOW is the time to speak up and share your voice with legislators.

πŸ’™ Urge legislators to oppose SB121 so it does not advance past the Senate floor today
πŸ’™ Voting day is THIS Saturday, May 16th - Vote on EVERYTHING!!
πŸ’™ Be prepared for the continued fight during our midterm elections in November

YoungDems, this is only the beginning. Continue sharing your voices - that's what they fear the most, because they know we have the power to make change.

Louisiana State Representative Terry Landry Jr. (D-67) and Executive Director Dadrius Lanus of the Louisiana Democratic Party sat down in conversation with us while thousands of Louisiana citizens packed the Capitol awaiting to testify at the Louisiana congressional redistricting hearing.

Last night's Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing lasting for over 10 hours, with the conclusion resulting in the passing of SB121 by a 4-3 party-line vote at 4:30 a.m.

As you can see, Louisiana showed up to the fight to let their voices be heard. Though the outcome is not what we wanted, the Blue Wave Revolution - as ED Lanus quotes - will NOT back down!! This is only the beginning. πŸŒŠπŸ’™

Stay tuned for more interviews and testimonies from the Capitol!
