Louisiana Gas Association Who We Are:

The association is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Louisiana as the Louisiana Gas Association, but known as LGA.

The LGA supports its members and the industry by providing services to enhance performance, promote safety, and broaden public awareness of the natural gas industry's contributions to society and the environment. Our Mission:

The purpose of LGA is to support its members and the industry by providing services to enhance performance, promote safety and broaden public awareness of the natural gas in

dustry's contributions to society and the environment. The specific areas of concern are 1) education and training, 2) public relations, 3) legislation affecting the natural gas industry, and 4) compliance with rules and regulations. It is comprised of investor and municipal-owned natural gas distribution companies, transmission companies, and master meter operators, along with associate members who produce or market natural gas and those who provide goods and services to the natural gas industry. The LGA is composed of more than 125 gas distribution and transmission companies in Louisiana, including both municipal and investor-owned systems. Association members serve more than ninety-five percent of the gas customers in the State of Louisiana. In addition, there are more than 80 associate member companies, 30 master meter operators and 125 individual members. Our Objectives:

To sponsor public education and public relations programs that will enhance the distribution and use of natural gas and create greater confidence in, respect for, understanding of and goodwill toward the natural gas industry

To accumulate data useful in developing engineering, operating and management programs and work practices that will contribute to improvement in the safe and reliable distribution, transportation, production and use of natural gas, and to make such data available to members of the association

To procure, review and provide comment on rules and regulations related to the use of natural gas as may be proposed by competent authority, and to furnish association members with suggestions, guidelines, methods or other data to assist them in compliance with such valid rules and regulations

To conduct affairs of the association in such a manner as to foster cooperation between industry and government bodies through better understanding of their activities needs and challenges, and the problems each must solve, whether mutual or unique.

⛳ What a memorable day at the 12th Annual LGA Scholarship Golf Tournament!

This year’s event brought together 29 teams and nearly 120 players from across Louisiana in support of the LGA College Scholarship Program — and included a very special surprise honoring former Board Member Blaine Spell for his years of dedication in organizing this tournament since its establishment in 2015.

We’re proud to officially rename the event the LGA Blaine Spell Scholarship Golf Tournament.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our dear friend and longtime board member, Cordell Theriot, who passed away on March 31, 2026.

Cordell served on the LGA board from 2017–2023 as the EnLink Midstream representative, and his presence went far beyond the boardroom. He was a familiar face at LGA events — always willing to lend a hand and show up for this industry and the people in it. He brought that same generous spirit to everything he did, and he will be deeply missed by all of us.

A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Henry, Louisiana, preceded by visitation at 1:00 PM.
