ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY - SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the attached photographs.

Investigators believe this individual is connected to a shooting that occurred on May 22, 2026, around
1:30 p.m. in the 11600 block on Tams Drive. The victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries at the time of the incident.

The Baton Rouge Police Department honors the memory of Officer Dennis R. Heap. Officer Heap was killed in a motorcycle crash at Florida Boulevard and Cloud Street. He was enroute to es**rt a funeral procession.

Officer Heap had served with the Baton Rouge Police Department for 5 years.

On May 27, 2026, 3rd District Uniform evening shift patrol officers responded to a reported assault involving a firearm in the 2400 block of Drusilla Lane.

Upon arrival, officers initiated an investigation that led them to the residence of 32-year-old Darius Crawford. Crawford was detained for questioning regarding the firearm assault, and during the investigation, officers confiscated narcotics and a handgun.

Crawford was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for multiple counts of manufacturing, distribution, or possession with intent to distribute Schedule I, II, and IV substances, as well as illegal carrying of a firearm with controlled dangerous substances.

The evidence seized included:
*85 packs of THC gummies and edibles
*33 cases of liquid THC v**es
*20 cartridges of liquid cannabis
*43 cartridges of liquid cannabis
*1.1 pounds of ma*****na
*20 chocolate bars of psilocybin edibles
*36 THC v**e pens
*M**A ecstasy
*alprazolam
*suspected psilocybin mushrooms
*amphetamine
*dextroamphetamine,
*oxycodone pills
*co***ne.

The fi****ms recovered consisted of:
*2 Glocks
*2 Smith & Wessons.

On May 25, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., BRPD officers responded to a dispatch call regarding a suspicious incident/person in the 100 block of Lee Drive, where a caller reported an individual asleep in a disabled vehicle blocking the business's driveway.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Myrell Howard, who, during questioning, revealed he had outstanding warrants through Probation and Parole.

During the arrest, officers discovered Howard was in possession of two stolen fi****ms, illegal narcotics including amphetamines and fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, multiple credit/debit cards, blank checks, and identification cards belonging to various individuals.

Howard was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges including:
*Illegal Possession of Stolen Fi****ms
*Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon
*Illegal Carrying of Firearm with CDS
*Fugitive from Probation and Parole.

ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY - BURGLARY SUSPECT

Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the attached photographs.

Investigators believe that on May 15, 2026, the suspect burglarized a vehicle in the 2500 block of Gates Circle. During the burglary, several debit and credit cards were stolen. The stolen cards were later used fraudulently at multiple businesses throughout the city.

ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY - ROBBERY SUSPECT

Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the attached photographs.

Investigators believe that on May 10, 2026, the victim was standing outside a local grocery market in the 6400 block of Harry Drive when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect asked the victim if he could spare a few dollars so he could purchase something from the store. As the victim took out his wallet, the suspect grabbed the victim’s wallet and fled on foot.

There were no reported injuries.

Baton Rouge Police Department Traffic Homicide Division arrested Latrisha Jackson, 43, for her involvement in the death of Kion Jackson, 7. Kion died from injuries sustained in a head-on traffic crash that occurred on March 24, 2026, in the 4100 block of Florida Blvd.

Latrisha Jackson turned herself in to law enforcement authorities and was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of Vehicular Homicide, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Reckless Operation of a Vehicle, Child Passenger Restraint System violations, Operating a Vehicle While License Suspended, and Security Required.
