The men and women of the SU Police Department are dedicated to providing quality service to our SU community and surrounding areas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. All officers receive training, and are commissioned with state-wide arrest powers, per LA Revised Statute (L.R.S.) 17:1805. Please be advised that the SU Traffic Dept and SU Police Dept are two different e

Events like this are a great opportunity to meet motivated individuals, share information about career opportunities, and continue building positive relationships throughout Baton Rouge.

The Southern University Police Department is proud to partner with campus support services to bring you Project CALM (Crisis Assistance Linkage & Management) — a powerful initiative focused on mental health awareness, crisis response, and building a stronger, more supportive campus community.

This event will equip students with:

Our dispatchers are the calm in the chaos. The steady voice on the other end of the line. The ones who answer every call—no matter the hour, no matter the situation—and make sure help gets where it needs to go.

While officers may be the ones you see, dispatchers are the ones who make it all happen. Every call taken, every unit directed, every life impacted starts with them.
