After thoughtful reflection and with deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve, I respectfully submit my notarized resignation as State Representative for House District 69, effective January 9, 2026. This decision has not come lightly, but I believe the time is right to step away from public office and embrace the next chapter of my personal and professional life.
It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve in this role since 2015, representing the Capital Region and the people I hold so dear. Throughout my tenure, I have sought to lead with integrity, champion meaningful ideas, and uphold the values of public service. From my first role at the Capitol in 1991 as a Page to Senator Oswald A. Deucir from New Iberia, to my work as a lobbyist and advocate, as Deputy Commissioner of Insurance through hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and as State Representative for District 69, I have been privileged to gain over 30 years of public policy experience across more than 50 legislative sessions.
Public service has truly been one of the greatest privileges of my life. From the beginning, I entered the Capitol with a passion for solving problems, a deep commitment to integrity and honesty, and a belief that government can—and must—work efficiently for the people. I am proud that my time in office was not spent simply marking time, but delivering real progress for Louisiana families and businesses.
Louisiana’s progress is never one person’s achievement. Everything we did, we did as a team. With the support of colleagues and stakeholders, I authored over 100 bills, with more than 50 becoming law. These efforts focused on strengthening our state’s business climate, workforce development, economic recovery, modernizing insurance frameworks, improving healthcare and access to IVF treatments, pro-family policies, reinforcing infrastructure, and championing small business resiliency. Each bill reflected a commitment to real solutions to help families, entrepreneurs, and communities.
I will forever cherish the trust my constituents placed in me. That trust has never been taken for granted. I am especially grateful for the partnerships built with civic leaders, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and fellow legislators who made so much of this progress possible. I’ve learned that effective leadership is not about headlines or soundbites—it’s about listening, learning, respecting, and leading with humility and purpose.
To my colleagues: thank you for your friendship, your spirited debate, and your dedication to our state. To my staff and supporters: thank you for your tireless work behind the scenes. And to my family: thank you for your unwavering love, patience, and support through every late night, long hearing, and legislative session.
My heart is full. I am humbled by the support from our district and honored by the recognition I’ve received across business, healthcare, conservative policy, and community service groups. While I am stepping away from this elected office, Louisiana will always be my priority, and I look forward to continuing to serve our great state in new and meaningful ways.
I leave with confidence that District 69 will continue to be represented with strength, compassion, and purpose. I will work closely with staff and constituents to ensure a smooth and responsible transition, and look forward to opening the door for our next generation of leadership.
God bless you, and may God continue to bless the great state of Louisiana.
