NWS Update-

There is a HIGH (70%) chance of tropical cyclone development over the next 2 days.

This system is forecast to move west-northwestward through the northern Gulf and reaching the upper Texas or southwest Louisiana coast by Tuesday or Tuesday night.
This system is slowly organizing and there is potential for it to become a short-lived tropical depression or tropical storm.

Confidence:
We have high confidence that the inland impacts from this system will be limited to increased rain chances. The main impacts will be to the Gulf waters west of Grand isle.

The disturbance in the Gulf now has a medium (50%) chance of development. If it were to develop, it would most likely be a short lived tropical depression. Other than an increase of chances of showers/storms, we are not forecasting significant impacts, regardless of it develops or not. Main concern would be locally heavy rainfall and isolated flash flooding.

From NWS New Orleans-

There is a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) of severe weather.
Isolated to scattered storms are likely to develop anytime from the late morning through evening hours. The main threats will be damaging wind gusts up to 60mph and large hail up to an inch in diameter.
