When you're digging, utility flags and paint help lead the way by showing the approximate location of underground utilities.

Before you break ground, take a moment to closely observe the markings left by utility locators—they're there to help you avoid costly and dangerous utility strikes.

The safest path is the one that's clearly marked.

Over the last several weeks, Louisiana 811 has been traveling across the state hosting PAL Meetings....bringing utility operators and stakeholders together to promote communication, cooperation, and damage prevention.

We are incredibly thankful to all of the utility operators who continue to support this important effort, and to Paradigm for their facilitation and support in making these meetings successful.

Of course, no Louisiana meeting would be complete without some good food! We appreciate the cooks who help feed our large crowds, along with everyone who contributes the door prizes and table promotional giveaways. Those giveaways are always a big hit!

Most importantly, these meetings provide an opportunity for people throughout the underground utility community to come together, share information, build relationships, and keep damage prevention at the forefront.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make these PAL Meetings a success. We appreciate your partnership and your commitment to keeping Louisiana safe!

Law dictates that any contractor digging on private property must get the underground utilities marked before digging. Visit our website to request for underground utilities to be marked.

The service is free, and local contractors should know the standard notice required to file before digging.
