Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana Chapter 1 joins the Sanford family in celebrating the life of our beloved Chaplain and friend, Dora Sanford.

Please note that all services and fellowship will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Following the Celebration of Life service at Healing Place Church and interment in the Sanford family cemetery in Batchelor, Louisiana, Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana Chapter 1 will host a repast for family and friends at:

151 S. Wooddale Blvd.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana

We anticipate receiving family and friends for fellowship and remembrance between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

With heavy hearts, Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana Chapter 1 announces the funeral arrangements for our beloved Chaplain, Mrs. Dora Sanford.

Mrs. Dora proudly wore three Blue Stars, honoring the service of her three sons, and faithfully served our chapter and the military community with love, grace, and an unwavering servant’s heart. She was the Matriarch of our chapter, a friend to many, and a constant source of encouragement and prayer.
