This week, the Louisiana State Police recruiting section held two Cadet Mentorship Program training classes at JESTC and Troop G in Bossier City, LA.

This program provides cadets and their families with information about academy life, challenges, and departmental details. Mentors serve as positive role models, demonstrating LSP Core Values and leadership skills throughout the process.

The program has been a valuable tool in helping LSP Cadets acclimate to the DPS family. Formal mentorship begins after the Cadet’s final employment offer and continues for one year post-graduation.
