Louisiana State Police Cadet Class 109 has successfully completed Week 9 of training!

This week, our cadets focused on learning defensive tactics, CPR/First Aid, and are continuing to develop the skills that will prepare them to protect and serve the citizens of Louisiana with professionalism, courage, and integrity.

Each week brings new challenges, and each challenge is another opportunity to grow. Through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, these cadets are proving that earning the Louisiana State Police badge is not just a goal, it's a commitment to something greater than themselves.

Louisiana State Police Cadet Class 109 has officially completed Week 8 of training!

This week, it was back to the headquarters as our cadets focused on LiDAR and radar, essential tools troopers use during speed enforcement to accurately detect vehicle speed. They also continued developing their skills through **defensive tactics training.

Most importantly, our cadets honored the troopers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the state of Louisiana. They also received the Hero's backpack in honor of DPS Corporal Kendall, reminding them of the courage, dedication, and sacrifice that comes with wearing the badge.

The weeks are flying by, and our cadets are getting closer and closer to achieving their ultimate goal of becoming Louisiana State Troopers.

Louisiana State Police Cadet Class 109 has successfully completed Week 7 of training! This week, our platoons rotated training, allowing for smaller class environments as cadets focused on the basic fundamentals of fi****ms and the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC). Each week, they are learning, growing, and becoming more prepared to serve the citizens of Louisiana with professionalism and integrity.

Our cadets also continued to push themselves physically, building the strength, discipline, and mental toughness needed to overcome every challenge.
The road may seem long, but every step brings you closer to the goal. Keep pushing, stay committed, and remember the end result is worth it!

On Saturday, August 15, the Louisiana State Police Recruiting Team attended a job fair at Jackson Barracks in New Orleans, hosted by Louisiana Work for Warriors.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with service members and military family members, discuss the requirements to become a Louisiana State Police Trooper, and highlight other career opportunities within LSP, including Administrative and Communications positions.

Yesterday, August 13, 2026, the Louisiana State Police Recruiting Team and Region 2 Public Information Officers participated in an Open House at Troop I in Lafayette. LA

For the second day in a row, recruiters met with applicants from surrounding communities and provided valuable information about the many career opportunities available with the Louisiana State Police.

Applicants also toured Troop I and met some of the outstanding Troopers currently serving there.
