Senator Royce Duplessis and Rep. Mike Bayham don’t agree on much…but they agree on THIS!

Thousands of Louisiana homes still get water through dangerous lead pipes. The federal money to fix it is already here. Our constitution is what’s in the way. Amendment 7 fixes that.

✅ Vote YES on 7

The Times-Picayune editorial board agrees: vote YES on Amendment 7. ✅

Too many Louisiana families are still drinking water through lead pipes, and our kids are the most at risk. Federal dollars are available to replace those lines, but a technicality in our constitution has stood in the way of using public money on private property.

That’s why I authored Amendment 7. It removes that obstacle so we can get the lead out, all the way to the home.

Vote YES on 7 on Nov. 3. 💧

Ten (10) years of bringing people together through food, music, and the culture that makes New Orleans special! Proud to present Cleveland Spears III with a proclamation celebrating the 10th anniversary of the The National Fried Chicken Festival. Salute to Cleveland and his team for creating a platform where local businesses shine and our community comes together. 🍗⚜️

ICYMI: We are voting YES on amendment 7! ✅

This is about our public health, plain and simple. It will provide clear legal authority to use federal funds to replace lead contaminated pipes for Louisiana residents. Protecting public health is what government is supposed to do!💧

Thank you for covering this important amendment.

Always a great time connecting with the beautiful neighborhoods on National Night Out Against Crime. Thank you to every neighbor who showed up, opened their doors, and brought us together. Let’s keep that spirit going all year long!

If you care about clean drinking water, please vote YES on Amendment 7.

I authored this amendment so communities across Louisiana can use public funds to replace dangerous lead service lines, including the portions on customer-owned property.

No new tax. No spending mandate. Just protection for our children and families.

The best part of the NOLA Water Summit? The young people in the room.

They asked brilliant and challenging questions.

Grateful to The Water Collaborative for the opportunity to talk public service, environmental challenges, the future of our communities, and how we keep our head up during these times.

The Saints didn’t win, but we rolled strong uptown with the YMO second line. Many come and go. But we are here to stay.

We cannot claim to live in a post-racial society while applying different standards of justice depending on who is involved.

I was honored to be the keynote speaker at the Lake Charles NAACP Freedom Fund Gala, where I spoke about the death of Nolan Wells, the persistence of racial double standards, and why organizations like the NAACP remain necessary in 2026.

Everyone has a position to play. Get off the sidelines. Get in the game.

Honored to spend this past weekend celebrating two incredible milestones: the 10th Anniversary Show of Love Gala for the Split Second Foundation, and the 25th Anniversary Gala for Innocence & Justice Louisiana - formerly IPNO, an organization I’m deeply proud to serve as a board member. Forever grateful for the champions leading these movements and everyone who supports this crucial work.
