🌿 Welcome April: A Season of Renewal & Possibility

As we step into April, we are reminded that new beginnings are always within reach. This month invites us to embrace growth, extend grace to ourselves and others, and continue moving forward—one step at a time.

At Capitol Area Reentry Program, we honor the courage it takes to start again. Whether you are navigating a new chapter, seeking support, or simply taking things day by day—know that you are not alone. Every step toward healing, stability, and wholeness matters.

April is a season of renewal. A time to plant seeds of hope, nurture progress, and believe in the possibility of transformation.

Let this month be a reminder:
* You are worthy of care
* Your journey matters
* Change is possible

We’re here with you—every step of the way.

đź”” Daily Reminder
Your presence in the world matters. The kindness you show, the encouragement you give, and the love you share make a difference—even when you don’t see the impact immediately.

In East Baton Rouge Parish, nearly 70% of adults with a high school education or less struggle financially - even when they’re working.

A job alone isn’t always the solution.

The Way to Work helps people build real stability through job training, career pathways, and supportive services that lead to sustainable employment - not just the next paycheck.

Today is still World AIDS Day—whether the government acknowledges it or not.

The Trump regime’s refusal to mark the day is hardly surprising. It’s the latest move in a derelict and deadly agenda that has dismantled decades of HIV advocacy and public health infrastructure.

They gutted PEPFAR. They hollowed out the CDC. They slashed public health budgets and undermined the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative. And they continue to demonize trans people, LGBTQ+ communities, Black and brown people, women, and immigrants—communities that built and sustained the HIV response from the beginning.

Their choices communicate something unmistakable: more HIV transmissions and more preventable deaths are acceptable to them. This regime's acknowledgment of World AIDS Day would have been disingenuous at best.

People living with HIV and HIV advocates have never relied on empty gestures. We survive and thrive because our communities take care of each other.

We’re doubling down on grassroots power, community care, legal advocacy, and harm reduction. We will continue to name what’s happening, push back on criminalization and erasure, and show up for one another—no matter who is in office.

On this World AIDS Day, we acknowledge the truth that has always sustained us:

-- Our communities are powerful.
-- Our resistance is generational.
-- And no hostile administration can erase the brilliance, strength, or survival of people living with HIV.
