Look at these faces. Read these signs. Hear what our communities are asking.

To those entrusted with leadership: where is our humanity when children and families are the ones who will bear the consequences of our decisions?

We are asking our leaders to look beyond contracts, politics, and numbers and see the human beings at the center of this decision.

These are children. These are families. These are people deserving of dignity and protection.

Alexandria, Louisiana is watching. Our communities are watching. History will remember what we choose to do.

Stop child detention. Cancel the contracts.

A reminder that needed to be heard.

The England Airpark Board of Commissioners called back to something fundamental: the Constitution and the responsibility to protect the rights and humanity of people — even when those people are immigrants.

This is bigger than a facility. It is about the choices we make when the dignity, safety, and freedom of children and families are at stake.

This work is not over.
