๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ”Ž Congratulations to our newest Employee of the Month, Robert โ€œBobbyโ€ Kingham! Bobby is a Criminal Investigator in the Office of the Secretary. Over his 26-year career at LDEQ, Bobby has served in multiple roles across the agency โ€” including Air Quality, Emergency Response, Small Business Assistance, and now the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), where his expertise and commitment to protecting Louisianaโ€™s environment make him an invaluable part of the team.

Environmental crime investigations require critical thinking and attention to detail โ€” qualities that Bobby consistently demonstrates through thorough investigations, evidence analysis, and detailed reporting. His work has helped identify significant violators and supported successful enforcement actions, contributing substantially to environmental remediation efforts across the state. Bobby also serves in a number of specialized roles, including as a Department drone operator, fixed-wing pilot for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffโ€™s Office, and more than 20 years supporting regional maritime security efforts.

Congrats, Bobby, and thank you for your outstanding service to Louisiana! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ’ง LDEQ staff recently had the opportunity to visit Brownfields Elementary School, where we partnered with Volunteers In Public Schools - EBR Partners in Education Program to bring environmental education directly to the classroom for a very special day of demonstrations.

Using our Enviroscape model, our volunteers taught more than 400 Kโ€“5 students about water quality and non-point source pollution โ€” helping them understand how everyday actions can impact their local waterways. Students also learned about their watershed, where it drains, and simple ways they can help protect it. Our younger learners also enjoyed a special story time to bring the concepts to life!

Opportunities like this are a great reminder of how important outreach and education are to LDEQโ€™s mission. Weโ€™re proud to connect with students across Louisiana and help inspire the next generation to care for our environment.
