Our thoughts and prayers go out to Chief Albert’s family, friends, and our brothers and sisters at St. George Fire Department.
Rest easy, Chief.
It is with profound sadness that the St. George Fire Department shares the passing of Chief Chuckie Albert, who passed away following a courageous battle with cancer.
Chief Albert dedicated more than 40 years of his life to the fire service. He began his career in 1983 with the Zachary Fire Department, serving until 1994, before going on to serve as Fire Chief of West Monroe from 1994 to 2000. From 2000 until his retirement in 2022, Chief Albert proudly served the St. George Fire Protection District as a chief officer, holding the roles of Chief of Training, Chief of Administration, and Chief of Technology.
Beyond his service to St. George, Chief Albert was a respected and influential leader within the Louisiana Fire Chiefs Association. He served as LFCA President in 2012 and as a longtime Secretary, including at the time of his passing. He also chaired the LFCA Bylaws Committee for many years and represented the Association on the Board of Commissioners of the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana, the PIAL advisory committee, and the Louisiana Department of Insurance Board of Review for fire ratings.
Chief Albert was widely known for his steady leadership, thoughtful counsel, and unwavering commitment to the fire service. His impact on St. George Fire, the Louisiana Fire Chiefs Association, and the broader fire service community will be felt for years to come.
We ask that you please keep Chief Albert’s family, friends, and fire service family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements will be shared as they become available.
