Louisiana is protecting human trafficking victims, even before trial. Gov. Landry has signed HB 161 by Rep. Shane Mack into law. No victim should have to fear their trafficker while justice is being served.

HB 39 by Rep. Gabe Firment now requires all peace officers in the state to be U.S. citizens. Peace officers hold the power to arrest, search, and use lethal force; powers that should be reserved for American citizens.

HB 570 by Rep. Roger Wilder is now Louisiana law. Local commissions, boards, and taxing districts will no longer be forced to "roll forward and max out their millages" just to keep their authorized rate. A win for Louisiana taxpayers.

HB 68 by Rep. Laurie Schlegel has been signed by Governor Landry! This law expands the definition of disturbing the peace to cover disruptive behavior at worship services; with penalties including a minimum 30-day jail sentence for those convicted. Every person of every faith deserves the right to worship without interference. House Republicans are standing up for that right.

HB 691 by Rep. Beau Beaullieu is signed. Louisiana's Secretary of State will now be required to submit details on every registered voter to the federal SAVE program annually to verify voter eligibility. Clean rolls. Legal votes. Louisiana leads in election integrity thanks to Republican leadership!

HB 58 by Rep. Debbie Villio has been signed into law! This bill closes a dangerous loophole that allowed individuals convicted of aggravated offenses against children to be granted bail while their cases were still pending. No child's abuser should be living near their victim. Louisiana just made sure of that.
