For more than 20 years, FEMA has sponsored National Preparedness Month, an annual September observance to encourage Americans to prepare for disasters and emergencies that could occur anywhere, at any time. This year’s theme, American Stand Ready, echoes the can-do American spirit of resourcefulness. All month long, the Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Management, the Calhoun County Public Health Department, and the Calhoun County 911 Consolidated Dispatch Authority will share tips and resources to help our neighbors prepare for emergencies.
We’ll highlight practical steps you can take to keep yourself, your family, and your neighborhood safe. Learn more at ready.gov, and sign up for emergency alerts at calhouncountymi.gov/rave or text CALHOUN to 67283.
