Reminder for all foster, adoptive, and kinship parents! 💙

There’s still time to join us for “Calm in the Chaos: Tools for Managing Big Behaviors” on Saturday, May 16 from 9am–12pm at the Family Enrichment Center in Battle Creek!

This in-person training will provide practical tools, support, and encouragement for navigating challenging behaviors with children impacted by trauma and stress. We’re excited to welcome Alicia Van Liere, who brings both professional expertise and lived experience as a foster parent.

We have a position open at our Take-A-Break Childcare Center! We are looking for a full-time Infant Assistant Teacher.

Job description
Take a Break Child Care Center is a full-day child care program that serves children from 6 weeks up to 12 years old. Our hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our services include summer care and drop-in/ respite care for foster, adoptive, kinship families.

This position is 9am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.

Job responsibilities include:
-Maintaining a healthy and fun learning environment in accordance with Licensing of Child Care Centers.
-Plan and implement weekly age and developmentally appropriate lesson plans using High Scope Curriculum.
-Conduct observations and yearly assessments to help guide unique learning.
-Maintain minimal requirements for training as required by state.
-Complete and pass 2 background checks and TB test.
-Communicates program and classroom happenings with parents through weekly newsletters and emails.
-Have current CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain if offered position).
-Be reliable, friendly, and nurturing; must enjoy children.

Education:
-High School Diploma or higher

Wages:
-Varies
