The Haven of Rest Ministries is grateful to the Consumers Energy Foundation for a generous $40,000 grant supporting the continued construction of our new kitchen and dining facility at our downtown Battle Creek campus.

Executive Director Daniel Jones (pictured on left) recently joined Greg Moore, Consumers Energy Senior Community Affairs Manager, (on right) to celebrate this important investment in the Haven and the people we serve.

This gift moves us another step closer to completing a building that will expand and strengthen our ability to serve over 90,000 warm and nutritious meals every year to people experiencing homelessness and other challenges in our community.

Construction is moving forward, but we still have fundraising to do. Our goal is to complete the new building and have it ready for use by April or May of 2027!

Thank you again to the Consumers Energy Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in the future of the Haven. We are grateful for partners who help us turn plans on paper into places where lives can change.

Baylee from Kellogg Community Credit Union visited the Haven today with a raffle prize for the Haven's upcoming ⛳️ Golf outing! (August 14th!) A beautiful charcuterie kit, complete with a board shaped like Michigan!! What a great raffle prize!! Thanks Baylee and KCCU!!

Men's LRP CAR WASH happening at the Haven tomorrow, Friday, July 31, 2026 from 9 AM to 3 PM ( or maybe a little later, who knows!?), and Saturday (weather permitting) August 1st - at our downtown Battle Creek location - 148 E. Michigan Avenue. Get your gloss on for the weekend! Only $10 suggested donation. COME ON DOWN!!

Hi Haven Nation; Our kitchen needs your help! ❤️ Our supply of meat and protein products is running very low, making it difficult to prepare the thousands of nutritious meals we serve each week. If you're able, please consider donating beef, chicken, pork, turkey, or other meat products. Every donation helps feed neighbors in need. Thank you for your generosity! 70 Years of Hope. 70 Years of Changing Lives.

On August 19, 2026, Haven of Rest Ministries will celebrate 70 years of serving Battle Creek and the surrounding communities.

Since 1956, thousands of men, women, and children have found more than a meal or a bed—they've found hope, healing, recovery, and a community that believes every life has value.

For seven decades, this ministry has been possible because of faithful supporters, dedicated volunteers, generous churches, committed staff, and a community that has chosen compassion.

Throughout the month of August, we'll be celebrating 70 Years of Hope by sharing stories from our history, highlighting lives that have been transformed, recognizing the people who make this ministry possible, and looking ahead to the future God has in store for the Haven.

We invite you to celebrate with us, share our story, and join us as we build hope for the next generation.

Thank you, Battle Creek, for walking alongside us for the past 70 years.

Battle Creek's Wal-Mart made a generous donation to a couple of non-profit organizations in town this week... and The Haven was fortunate enough to be one of them! Cassy, local Wal-Mart store manager, presented the big check at the store's renovation / Grand re-opening today, and Haven Executive Director Daniel Jones was on hand for it. THANK YOU so much Wal-Mart, and Cassy. We appreciate ❤️ you!

Hi Haven Nation - the Men's Life Recovery is looking to get some deep carpet cleaning done in and around their space; We would really love to acquire a carpet shampooer - the one pictured is on Amazon right now for $200. Does someone have one to donate, or would you care to purchase the one below for the Haven? We promise to take care of it, and also put it to work in the other various ministries we operate. At Haven Maternity Housing, we want every mother who walks through our doors to hear the same message:

Every day, Haven Maternity Housing provides safe housing, practical support, encouragement, and hope to women navigating one of the most challenging seasons of their lives. Together, we’re helping mothers build stable futures–for themselves and for their babies.

Today, we're inviting our community to help us do something important.

Our goal is to raise $35,000 to fully fund the next three months of operations at Haven Maternity Housing. Those gifts will help provide housing, utilities, food, household necessities, and the daily support our residents depend on as they rebuild their lives.
