🗳️ NOW HIRING – ELECTION CLERK 🗳️

Do you enjoy organization, attention to detail, and serving your community? Emmett Charter Township is seeking an Election Clerk to help maintain voter records and support the election process for more than 12,000 residents.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate voter registration records, processing absentee voter applications and ballots, generating election reports, and assisting residents with election-related questions.

Qualifications include:
✔ High School Diploma or equivalent
✔ Reliable transportation
✔ Strong computer and typing skills
✔ Excellent attendance record
✔ Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented

Emmett Township Department of Public Safety Press Release

On Friday, May 8th at approximately 2:00 PM, Harper Creek High School was the target of a reported bomb threat. Harper Creek Community Schools and the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety worked collaboratively to investigate the report.

Out of an abundance of caution, students were evacuated while the building was searched. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority, and we are committed to keeping everyone safe.

Unfortunately, schools across Michigan and the nation continue to experience threats and false reports designed to create fear and disrupt learning environments. Incidents such as these are treated seriously, and today’s response followed established safety protocols to help ensure the protection of students and staff.

This remains an open investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact School Resource Officer King at [email protected] or Silent Observer at (269) 964-3888. As always, if you see something, say something.

I want to personally thank the students for remaining orderly and following staff directions throughout the incident. I also want to thank the staff for their dedication to keeping students safe, and the parents for their trust and cooperation during a stressful situation.
