I wanted to take this moment to recognize the City of Battle Creek's Assistant City Manager (and previously interim City Manager during our extended hiring process), TED DEARING. He has announced his intention to actually retire this time, on April 30th! I say this because he had fully intended on retiring last year, but due to our lenthly City Manager hiring process had thankfully agreed to hold off on that retirement and assist the new City Manager as she acclimated into her new role.

As a newly elected City Commissuoner, I would not be where I am at today without the assistance and vast knowledge of Ted! He has been a true godsend! I am very grateful for the support he has given me. Our city has benefitted tremendously from his efforts and expansive knowledge over the years. His accomplishments are many, and they will continue to advance our community for years to come.
