So, what do you do when you host a community event and have a couple hundred hot dogs left over? ๐ŸŒญ

Fortunately for us, we have the North County Community Food Bank right here in Battle Ground! Our Public Works staff was helping clean up after National Night Out earlier this week, and they were able to take the unopened packages of hot dogs and hot dog buns to the food bank so they wouldnโ€™t go to waste. ๐Ÿค—

Thank you to everyone who joined us for National Night Out! And a special thank you to the North County Community Food Bank for helping us with our hot dog problem, and for everything you do to support families throughout North Clark County! ๐Ÿ’›

Thereโ€™s a lot to be grateful for as conditions improve on the Hidden Meadows Fire.

From the first responders on the ground to the CRESA team helping coordinate the response and sending updates out to the public.

We noticed you, too! As the fire unfolded, neighbors, friends and even strangers were checking in, offering help and sharing information. It was pretty amazing to see people looking out for one another.

We appreciate each of you. โค๏ธ

Fire crews have made significant progress on the Hidden Meadows Fire since it was first reported this morning. The fire is currently estimated at 12 acres, with minimal active fire behavior within the existing fire area.

Following a recent collision involving an adult e-motorcycle rider, we want to share an important safety reminder: Know Your Ride.

Electric-powered vehicles can vary significantly in their design, power, and legal requirements. Knowing the specifications of your ride can help you understand the rules that apply.

In this incident the vehicle was NOT road legal, because it:
โšก Exceeded the maximum 750 watts
๐Ÿšซ Did NOT have pedals
๐Ÿ๏ธ Requires a valid driverโ€™s license and motorcycle endorsement (this rider had neither)

Fortunately, the rider was wearing a helmet and sustained only minor injuries.

As electric-powered bikes and motorcycles become more popular, BGPD wants to emphasize the importance of safety and education. Weโ€™re developing additional outreach to help riders, parents, and community members better understand the laws surrounding e-bikes and e-motorcycles.

๐Ÿ‘€ Stay tuned โ€” more information is coming! To read the full press release on this incident please visit the link in the comments below.
