Battle Lake Area Rescue Squad

Battle Lake Area Rescue Squad Our priority is to provide the highest level of pre-hospital medical care to the residents and visitors of the Battle Lake area.

Battle Lake Area Rescue is made up of Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Paramedics and an RN. They are your friends and neighbors who have been professionally trained to help in a medical emergency. They volunteer their time at a moment’s notice, day or night, with no expectation of compensation. Battle Lake Rescue members have regular practice and refresher

training to maintain their skills. When you dial 911 for a medical emergency, responders are notified immediately via pagers. Some will respond in our rescue rig and some will respond in their personal vehicles. Responders will provide basic life support and patient stabilization in the critical early minutes of a medical emergency while waiting for the responding ambulance to arrive to transport the patient. To accomplish this we strive to have a strong relationship with the community. How To Join

It is illegal in all 50 states to pass a school bus when the stop arm is out with flashing red lights. Always stop when the stop-arm is out! Racing past the stop-arm puts young lives in jeopardy.

Scam Alert!⚠️

People in Minnesota are receiving fake messages from “Minnesota Department of Vehicle Administration (DMV)” about outstanding traffic tickets and fines that need to be paid.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) division will never send a text asking for money or saying money is due.

Stay safe by following these tips:
• Always review the sender; the exact name matters.
• Don’t respond to this scam or open links.
• Delete the message.

Swimmer’s Itch - a harmless (but super annoying) rash caused by tiny water parasites that accidentally burrow into your skin. 😳

Perham Health offers these helpful tips to keep your summer rash-free:

🐌 It’s more common in shallow, warm water near shorelines — especially where ducks and snails hang out.
🧴 A layer of waterproof sunscreen can help protect your skin!
🚿 Showering or toweling off right after swimming can reduce your chances of getting it.
🤝 It’s not contagious, and it usually clears up on its own in a few days.

Swimmer’s Itch can’t ruin your lake day — not if you know how to dodge it! ☀️
