Bauxite Fire Department The Bauxite Fire Department is committed to serving the people of Bauxte & surrounding areas.

Bauxite Firefighters are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year to respond to any emergency or call for service. Our firefighters are not paid or compensated for their time responding to calls or for training which adds up to hundreds of hours per year.

Whether you’re interested in becoming a firefighter, helping with community outreach, or assisting in other ways, there’s a place for you in our department. Volunteering is a rewarding experience that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of your neighbors.

The Bauxite Fire Department is looking for qualified individuals to join our department. Bring the whole family! There’s a job for everyone: fire & medical response, community fire prevention & education, station & vehicle upkeep & maintenance just to name a few. If you are 18 or older and live within a short distance of our response area, you could be one of our newest members. Fire suppression, CPR, & emergency medical training is provided at no cost. Come be a part of helping your neighbors out! Our next training is scheduled for April 14, 2025 at 3PM. Come on by & visit with us at our station next to Bauxite City Hall!

If you don’t want to wait that long, we have our command staff that can meet with you on a one-on-one basis. Just send our page a message & we can get you scheduled to meet with someone!

Update 3:30PM — the Highway Department has reopened the roadway.

Highway 183 is currently closed between just east of Virginia Ave and School Street due to road damage from flooding. Road crews are currently on scene assessing the extent of the damage & preparing to do temporary repairs to get the road back open as soon as possible.

🚨 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🚨
Saline County Judge Matt Brumley has issued a countywide burn ban effective immediately for the safety of our community. 🌾🔥

“After closely monitoring fire weather conditions over the past 10 days, I am declaring a burn ban for Saline County," said Judge Brumley. "For the protection of life, property, and our firefighters and first responders, it's critical that you avoid any burning and report any burning activities immediately.”

The status of the burn ban will be monitored daily, with updates provided as conditions improve. Please check our social media channels and website for updates.
