🚫🔥 High Fire Danger Today – Burn Ban Still in Effect 🔥🚫

Conditions remain extremely dry, and the risk for fires to start and spread rapidly is very high today. For everyone’s safety, the burn ban is still in effect.

Please do not burn yard debris, trash, or conduct any outdoor burning. Even a small spark can quickly turn into a dangerous wildfire under these conditions.

We ask everyone to stay alert and do your part to help prevent fires:
• Avoid open flames and outdoor burning
• Properly dispose of ci******es
• Be cautious with equipment that may cause sparks

Let’s work together to keep our community safe. If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

Stay safe,
Baxley Fire Department

Today, we proudly recognize International Firefighters’ Day and the men and women who answer the call—day or night, rain or shine.

At Baxley Fire Department, this day is a reminder of the dedication, sacrifice, and courage it takes to serve our community. From structure fires and brush fires to emergencies of every kind, our firefighters stand ready to protect life and property at a moment’s notice.

We also take time to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their bravery and commitment will never be forgotten.

Starting today, much of South and Central Georgia are under a burn ban as we continue to respond to wildfires and deal with ongoing drought conditions.

We're asking all Georgians to do your part in preventing the spread of wildfires as response teams work around the clock to contain those currently blazing.

BFD wants to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who showed up for us yesterday. Your generosity—whether it was water, snacks, or supplies—meant more to us than words can truly express as we worked to fight the fires.

In the middle of a long and exhausting day, your support gave us the extra push we needed to keep going. Knowing our community was standing behind us made all the difference.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to ACSO, BPD, Appling County Fire Department, Georgia Forestry Commission, Tattnall County Fire, and Reidsville Fire Department for standing alongside us. Your teamwork, dedication, and support did not go unnoticed.

We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for helping us stay strong out there. ❤️🔥
