USD 508 is a public school district with approximately 1000 students, located in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Lincoln Elementary school serves students in preschool through second grade, our Central Elementary school serves students in grades three through five, the Baxter Springs Middle School covers grades six through eight, then our Baxter Springs High School completes secondary education with grade

The Baxter Springs Lions take on Frontenac this Friday, September 4, with the NEW KICKOFF TIME of 7:30 PM at Baxter.

Girls Golf heads to Columbus and Cross Country travels to Labette County, both starting at 10:00 AM. Volleyball finishes out the day at Erie beginning at 5:00 PM.

Great way to begin a Feel Good Friday!

A former BHS student who was actively involved in our Welding program is moving to northern Pennsylvania. She applied for a welding position at large fabrication company that builds parts for large construction equipment. Shantanna Hardison took welding tests on Wednesday and passed without concern. The company hired her on the spot. Her starting wage will earn her $2500.00 per week ($62.50 per hour), or basically $120,000 per year with full benefits.

Way to go, Shantanna! A testament to hardwork and believing in your path of opportunity. A true reflection of "there's something for everyone" at BHS and USD508.

The Baxter Springs Lions will kick off the season at the Football Jamboree at Carne Smith Stadium on the campus of Pittsburg State University.

Friday, August 28 at 7:00 PM

Baxter Springs will take the field alongside St. Mary’s Colgan and Galena for a great night of football. Come out, wear your RED & WHITE, and support our Lions as they get the 2026 season underway!
