The Crisis Center & Children’s Advocacy Center Our goal is to help these victims achieve safety, self-sufficiency and a life free from violence by providing intervention services.

The Crisis Center is a Children’s Advocacy Center, Domestic Violence Program, and Rape Crisis Center serving child victims of crime and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Matagorda and Wharton Counties. Our purpose is to encourage victims to seek crisis intervention services, promote awareness thereof, and to educate our communities regarding the dynamics of family violence , sex

ual assault, and child abuse. The Crisis Centeris a community-based, volunteer supported program that provides shelter and support to victims of family violence and sexual assault in Matagorda and Wharton Counties. Since its beginning in 1984, the Crisis Center has consistently grown because of the commitment of local volunteers and the high level of community involvement. The Crisis Centeris funded by Federal and State grants, city and county funds, foundation grant support, local and regional businesses, the United Way and many generous individuals.

A BIG thank you to the SPS 8th Grade Class of 2027 for giving back to our community! 💜

These awesome students collected and donated non-perishable food items for The Crisis Center & Children’s Advocacy Center, along with a cash donation to help support the individuals and families we serve.

Donations like these make such a difference for our clients. Having food and everyday essentials available means we can help meet immediate needs while families are navigating difficult circumstances, and this group showed up in a BIG way! 🥫🫶

We love seeing young people learn the importance of giving back and supporting others in their community. Thank you to the students, families, teachers, and everyone who helped make this donation possible!

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re asking Matagorda and Wharton Counties to walk with us.

Two communities. Two walks. One message: survivors are seen, supported, and never alone.

👏 A big thank you to First Methodist Church of Bay City!

We are grateful to First Methodist Church for welcoming our Training Coordinator, Dr. Richard Kohler, on Sunday to speak with their congregation about recognizing and reporting child abuse and the role we all play in protecting children.

Dr. Kohler also shared information about the free training opportunities available through The Crisis Center & Children’s Advocacy Center for churches, schools, businesses, and community organizations.
