PreK educators from across the Great Lakes Bay Region, including BAISD, recently came together for professional learning focused on strengthening early literacy instruction. Guest presenters from the Michigan Dyslexia Institute shared valuable insights into the Orton-Gillingham approach and strategies that support the development of foundational reading skills. Educators explored practical, evidence-based techniques they can bring back to their classrooms to better meet the needs of young learners. By investing in high-quality professional learning and collaboration, we are building stronger early literacy foundations for children throughout our region.
