🚨 SCAM ALERT – DOORDASH IMPERSONATION SCAMS 🚨

The Bay City Police Department wants to make our community aware of scams involving individuals pretending to represent DoorDash or other food-delivery services.

BCPD has recently received a report involving a citizen who suffered a significant financial loss after being targeted by a scam. We want to remind everyone to be extremely cautious when receiving unexpected calls, text messages, or emails claiming to be from DoorDash or another delivery service.

🚩 Scammers may claim there is a problem with an order, offer a refund, or tell you that your account needs to be verified. They may even have information that makes the call appear legitimate.

🔒 Protect yourself:

❌ Never provide a caller with a verification or security code sent to your phone or email.
❌ Never provide your banking information, debit card PIN, passwords, or login credentials.
❌ Do not click links in unexpected text messages or emails.
❌ Do not allow an unknown caller to remotely access your phone or computer.
✅ If someone claims to be from DoorDash, end the call and contact DoorDash through the official app or website.
✅ If you believe your bank account has been compromised, contact your financial institution immediately.
✅ Remember: A verification code is intended to protect your account. Never give that code to someone who calls or texts you asking for it.

🚩 Scammers are becoming increasingly convincing and may use legitimate company names, phone numbers that appear familiar, and information about recent transactions to gain your trust.

Please take a moment to talk with your family members about these types of scams. 💬

Stay alert, protect your personal information, and when in doubt, hang up and verify. 🔒

Hope to Dream: Making a Difference in Our Community 💙

The Bay City Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ashley for inviting us to be part of their Hope to Dream event and for allowing us to serve alongside them and many other community partners in providing new beds to children in our community.

This special event served 34 children, with each child receiving a brand-new bed frame, mattress, sheets, blanket, pillow, and additional donated items to help create a comfortable space they can call their very own. 🛏️💙

The Bay City Police Department is proud to serve such a loving, caring, and generous community. Thank you to Ashley and everyone who helped make this wonderful event possible!

Together, we can make a difference!
