Today, Bay City Volunteer Fire Department received a very special surprise from H-E-B. ❤️

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of September 11, H-E-B is showing its appreciation for police and fire departments across Texas — and today, they stopped by BCVFD with lunch and a generous donation to our department.

We are incredibly grateful for the meal, the donation, and most of all, the thought behind it. Support like this means a great deal to our volunteers and reminds us how fortunate we are to serve a community where people and businesses continue to show up for one another.

Thank you, H-E-B, for remembering the significance of 9/11 and for supporting first responders across our state. 🇺🇸🚒

Things are looking a bit different this year for our annual Open House! This year, we are teaming up with the Bay City Police Department.
With the construction of the 6th Street bridge, we are unable to have a car fire, but we will still have our trucks out for viewing, firefighters to talk to and ask questions, and we can't forget the hotdogs, chips and drinks!
Mark your calendars for October 6th and join the BCVFD and BCPD for an evening of fun starting at 5:30. Bounce houses, games, prizes, face painting, etc.
We can't wait to see everyone and have a great time together!

Today, on Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, we recognize the men and women of the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department who give their time to serve and protect our community.
They respond at all hours, train to be ready and step in wherever they are needed—all while balancing jobs, families and everyday responsibilities.
Thank you to each of our volunteers for your dedication, teamwork and commitment to Bay City. Your service does not go unnoticed, and our community is stronger because of you.

🚸 Students are Back in School Today! 🚸

Summer break has come to an end, and our students have returned to school this morning, August 12th. As a result, more children will be walking and biking—especially during morning and afternoon hours.

👀 Stay Alert:

‼ Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits 🚸
‼ Watch for kids crossing streets and walking near schools 🚸
‼ Remember that cell phone use in a School Zone is PROHIBITED 📵; DON'T DRIVE DISTRACTED 🚸
‼ Be extra cautious around school buses—never pass when lights are flashing

✅ DO pay attention, drive within the speed limit and in a way as if your loved ones are crossing the road 💛👍

Let’s work together by staying observant to keep our children safe and start the school year off right. 💙📚

From Controlled Chaos... to Truck-Sized Fun! 🚛💥

The crafts have been created, the giant games have been conquered, and Last Controlled Chaos is wrapping up another unforgettable summer. But don't park the fun just yet...

Next up, we're shifting into high gear for one of Bay City's biggest family favorites—the 7th Annual Touch-A-Truck!

On Saturday, September 12, the Sports Complex will be filled with fire trucks, police vehicles, heavy equipment, utility trucks, and more for a day of climbing, exploring, honking, and hands-on fun. Whether your little one dreams of driving a dump truck or wants to check out the biggest machines in town, this is the event for them!

We'll even kick things off with a Sensory-Friendly Hour from 10–11 a.m., offering a quieter experience with no horns or flashing lights so everyone can enjoy the fun.

So as one adventure ends, another is already rolling into town. Mark your calendars, gather the family, and get ready to shift into fun at Touch-A-Truck!

Because at Bay City Parks & Recreation, the fun doesn't stop... we just change gears. 🚒🚜🚛💨
