๐Ÿšธ Students are Back in School Today! ๐Ÿšธ

Summer break has come to an end, and our students have returned to school this morning, August 12th. As a result, more children will be walking and bikingโ€”especially during morning and afternoon hours.

๐Ÿ‘€ Stay Alert:

โ€ผ Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits ๐Ÿšธ
โ€ผ Watch for kids crossing streets and walking near schools ๐Ÿšธ
โ€ผ Remember that cell phone use in a School Zone is PROHIBITED ๐Ÿ“ต; DON'T DRIVE DISTRACTED ๐Ÿšธ
โ€ผ Be extra cautious around school busesโ€”never pass when lights are flashing

โœ… DO pay attention, drive within the speed limit and in a way as if your loved ones are crossing the road ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘

Letโ€™s work together by staying observant to keep our children safe and start the school year off right. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

From Controlled Chaos... to Truck-Sized Fun! ๐Ÿš›๐Ÿ’ฅ

The crafts have been created, the giant games have been conquered, and Last Controlled Chaos is wrapping up another unforgettable summer. But don't park the fun just yet...

Next up, we're shifting into high gear for one of Bay City's biggest family favoritesโ€”the 7th Annual Touch-A-Truck!

On Saturday, September 12, the Sports Complex will be filled with fire trucks, police vehicles, heavy equipment, utility trucks, and more for a day of climbing, exploring, honking, and hands-on fun. Whether your little one dreams of driving a dump truck or wants to check out the biggest machines in town, this is the event for them!

We'll even kick things off with a Sensory-Friendly Hour from 10โ€“11 a.m., offering a quieter experience with no horns or flashing lights so everyone can enjoy the fun.

So as one adventure ends, another is already rolling into town. Mark your calendars, gather the family, and get ready to shift into fun at Touch-A-Truck!

Because at Bay City Parks & Recreation, the fun doesn't stop... we just change gears. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿš›๐Ÿ’จ

Burning debris? Take a few extra minutes to do it safely.
Dry conditions can allow a small, controlled burn to become a fast-moving grass fire in a matter of minutes. Before you light a fire, check the weather, consider wind conditions, and have the proper tools and water available to keep the fire under control.
NEVER BURN WITHIN BAY CITY CITY LIMITS Open burning is prohibited within the city and can put lives, property, and emergency responders at unnecessary risk.
If a burn ban is in effect, DO NOT BURN. Burn bans are put in place to protect lives, homes, property, and our community when wildfire conditions are high.
One responsible decision can prevent an emergency response.
Help us keep Bay City and the surrounding communities safe by burning responsibly.

Every response takes a team.
Responding to a fire call requires people with different strengths, skills and responsibilities working together. Not every volunteer serves in the same way, but every contribution helps the team protect our community.
If you've thought about volunteering or if you would like to learn more let us hear from you. Your skills may be exactly what the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department needs.
Send us a message to learn more about becoming a volunteer.
