Mayor Curtis recently kicked off the season with the first Sunset Paddle on Twilight Lake and the first Mayor’s Walk & Talk of the year. Both events brought neighbors together to enjoy the beauty of our community, connect with one another, and take advantage of all that makes Bay Head such a special place.

🏛️📚 This morning, Mayor Curtis and Councilmembers Barnes, Gates, and Shaning were pleased to welcome Bay Head School’s 7th grade class to Borough Hall for a hands-on lesson in local government.

Students toured Borough Hall, the Bay Head Fire Department, and Police Department, gaining a firsthand look at the people and services that help keep our community running every day. They also stepped into the role of local leaders by participating in mock council meetings and learning how municipal government works.

We were incredibly impressed by this outstanding group of students. Their curiosity, enthusiasm, and thoughtful participation made for a great morning. The future is certainly bright, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact these young leaders will have on our community in the years ahead! 🌟👏

Mayor Curtis and the Council would like to thank everyone that attended this morning’s Memorial Day service and to thank the Fire Department for making room to house it inside due to the weather.

Mayor Curtis spoke about the importance of this day and how it is vital that we continue to remember all those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country.

🏆 👟💪Bay Head Recognized as a 2025 Healthy Town! 🏆👟💪

Mayor Curtis, Councilwoman Jennifer Barnes, and Councilman Jim Gates were proud to join the volunteers of the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign (MWC) as Bay Head was once again recognized as a Healthy Town by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute.

Mayor Curtis explained that the MWC is a statewide initiative in partnership with the NJ Health Care Quality Institute and the NJ League of Municipalities focused on promoting healthier lifestyles and improving the overall wellness of residents.

The Council also thanked the dedicated MWC volunteers for their hard work throughout the year organizing programs and events that help keep Bay Head active, healthy, and connected — including Mayor’s Walk & Talks, Sunset Paddles, and many other great community activities.

👏 Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helps make Bay Head a healthier community for all!

Some pics from Mayor Curtis and Councilman Shaning as they were watching the groins (jetties) at Mount and Karge finally being repaired. The Bay Head Improvement Association is getting this project underway after years of battling with the DEP and will go along way in keeping our sand on our beach and not needing future beach replenishment.
