The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department has completed repairs to the drainage issues on Byrne Street & East Mango Street.
🚗The intersection at Byrne Street & East Mango Street, is now OPEN to all traffic.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

Beginning Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the section of roadway from Byrne Street & East Mango Street will be closed while the City of Bay Minette Public Works Department works on the drainage issues at the intersection.

This repair is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and to restore the integrity of the roadway.

Please plan an alternate route and use caution when traveling in the area.
We will post updates on the City of Bay Minette page as work progresses and will notify residents as soon as the roadway has reopened.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our Public Works crews work to complete these repairs safely and as quickly as possible.

BULKY ITEM & YARD DEBRIS PICK-UP INFORMATION

The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department would like to remind residents, businesses, and apartment complexes of the requirements for bulky item and yard debris pick-up.

RESIDENTIAL PICK-UP
To qualify for free Bulky Item Pick-Up and Yard Debris Pick-Up within the City limits, residents must have residential trash service through the Solid Waste Disposal Authority (SWDA).
SWDA has provided residential garbage collection within the City limits since March 1, 2024.

BUSINESSES & APARTMENT COMPLEXES
Businesses and apartment complexes that use a private dumpster service and do not have service through SWDA do not qualify for free City pick-up.
Public Works may provide bulky item and/or yard debris removal for a fee of $75 per truck load. The fee must be paid before pick-up can occur.

ITEMS THAT DO NOT QUALIFY FOR FREE PICK-UP

Construction Materials:
• Lumber
• Drywall
• Insulation
• Roofing materials
• Plywood
• Plaster
• Fencing
• Concrete
• Brick and similar materials
• Dirt and rocks
• Demolition and construction waste

Structures:
• Sheds
• Carports
• Old decks and porches
• Other structures or portions of structures

Hazardous and/or Toxic Materials:
• Tires
• Paint, stains and varnishes
• Paint thinners
• Pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers
• Used motor oil, transmission fluid and antifreeze
• Household cleaners, bleach and drain openers
• Fluorescent tubes and CFL bulbs
• Rechargeable and automotive lead-acid batteries
• Other hazardous or toxic materials

Residents should take these materials directly to the Baldwin County Transfer Station located at 42901 Nicholsville Road.

CONTRACTOR DEBRIS
Construction and contractor debris, including debris from tree removal, should be removed by the contractor. If the City is required to remove the material, a fee of $75 per load will be assessed.

Help us keep Bay Minette clean and beautiful.

The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department is committed to keeping our community clean, safe, and looking its best. You can help by knowing your collection schedule and reporting yard debris or bulky items when they are ready for pickup.

Yard Debris Pick-up Schedule:

• Monday: District 1 (on East Side) & District 3
• Tuesday: District 1 (on West side) & District 2
• Wednesday: Bulky item pickup in all five districts
• Thursday: District 4 & District 5
• Friday: Yard debris pickup follows Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday routes

Yard debris includes natural materials from landscape maintenance such as grass clippings, leaves, pine straw, twigs, and branches.

Bulky waste includes furniture, appliances, mattresses, carpets, and similar household items. Please separate bulky waste from yard debris and household garbage. Construction and demolition debris is not eligible for this service.

*Tires, paint, and other hazardous materials are not eligible for pick-up. Residents should take these items directly to the Baldwin County Transfer Station on Nicholsville Road.

*Any construction and contractor debris, including tree removal, should be removed by the contractor or a fee will be assessed at $75 per load by the City of Bay Minette.

Please have the following information ready:
• Name
• Address
• Phone number
• Description of the items to be picked up

Helpful reminders:
• Public Works has up to 7 business days from notification to complete your pickup.
• Place all items on the public right-of-way for collection.
• Do not place items in ditches or on private property, as our crews cannot access them.
• Separate yard debris from bulky waste before placing items curbside.

The City of Bay Minette Public Works Department has been hard at work this week improving our streets and neighborhoods.

This week, crews have:
• Cleaned gutters along Hand Avenue
• Trimmed trees along roadways and sidewalks
• Swept streets throughout the city

These projects help keep our roads and sidewalks safe while improving drainage and maintaining the appearance of our community.

As a reminder, please refer to our Bulky Item Pickup and Yard Debris Collection Schedule to help ensure materials are placed out on the correct collection days.

Thank you to our residents for your patience and support as these important projects continue. Together, we are building a stronger, cleaner, and safer Bay Minette.

🚗 Abernathy Avenue, from Williams Street to Brady Road, is now OPEN to all traffic.

This repair is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and to restore the integrity of the roadway.
