Today, Ofc. Dodson, Sgt. Kelly, and ACO Boone had the opportunity to speak with the students participating in United Bank's BizTown camp about the important role public safety professionals play in our community.

During their presentation, they shared insights into law enforcement and animal control, and answered questions from the students. It was a great opportunity to engage with future leaders and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the dedication and teamwork required to keep our community safe.

We appreciate United Bank for inviting us to be part of this valuable program and for investing in the education and development of our local youth.

🚓 City of Bay Minette Swears In New Police Chief James Rosier Jr.
The City of Bay Minette proudly welcomed and officially swore in its new Police Chief, James Rosier Jr., during a ceremony held this morning. City leaders, staff, and community members gathered to mark the beginning of a new chapter for the Bay Minette Police Department.
Chief Rosier brings with him a clear vision rooted in service, accountability, and a strong commitment to community. In his remarks, he emphasized that the department’s success will not be defined by numbers alone, but by how safe residents feel in their neighborhoods. “We will not be a department that chases statistics,” Rosier shared, adding that success will be measured by the perceived safety of our community.
City officials have expressed confidence in Chief Rosier’s leadership and praised his passion, dedication, and community-first mindset. His approach signals a continued focus on building trust, strengthening relationships, and ensuring that public safety efforts reflect the needs and expectations of Bay Minette’s residents.
The City also extends its sincere appreciation to Jimmy Dean Stracener, who has faithfully served as Interim Police Chief since November and will now continue his leadership as Assistant Police Chief. His steady guidance and commitment during the transition period have been invaluable.
Gratitude is also extended to the Police Chief Search Committee, as well as the Mayor and City Council, for their time, diligence, and thoughtful collaboration throughout the selection process. Their efforts have helped position the City for continued progress and strong leadership within the police department.
The City of Bay Minette looks forward to the future under Chief Rosier’s leadership and remains committed to fostering a safe, connected, and thriving community for all.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
City of Bay Minette
Municipal Court
Municipal Court Announces Issuance of Failure-to-Appear Warrants
The City of Bay Minette Municipal Court will be issuing warrants for individuals who failed to appear for scheduled court hearings during the months of February and March. These hearings were set to review the status of unresolved cases currently pending before the Court.
Failure to appear for a scheduled court date constitutes noncompliance with a court order and may result in the issuance of a warrant. The issuance of such warrants is a standard function of the Municipal Court to ensure accountability and to advance the disposition of pending cases.
This initiative is intended to improve case resolution and reduce the Court’s backlog of outstanding cases. Individuals with outstanding cases are encouraged to contact the Municipal Court to verify their current status and take appropriate steps to resolve any pending matters. Addressing these issues proactively may help avoid further enforcement actions, including the issuance of a warrant.
Failure-to-appear warrants issued by the Municipal Court require a cash bond and are not eligible for surety bonds.
