During National Police Week, we take time to remember the officers across this country who gave their lives serving others and protecting their communities.

For the Bay St. Louis Police Department, this week is deeply personal as we honor and remember Sergeant Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe. Their loss is something that will always be felt within our department and our community. They served with courage and commitment, and their memory continues to live on through those who had the privilege to know and work beside them.

This week, we are proud to have several Bay St. Louis Police officers in Washington, D.C. representing our department and our community during the 2026 National Police Week. Our Motors Division is currently serving alongside hundreds of motorcycle officers from agencies across the country, escorting the families of fallen officers from the airport to their hotels and throughout our nation’s capital during the memorial events. Seeing officers from all over the nation come together to support these families is a powerful reminder that the law enforcement family stands together and never forgets its fallen.

While no words can ever ease the pain of loss, we hope Sergeant Robin and Officer Estorffe’s families know they are never forgotten and that their sacrifice continues to inspire those who still wear the badge today.

💙We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 💙

This week, our investigators and officers participated in advanced investigations training at the Bay St. Louis Police Department through the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy. This course was designed around current trends and the increasing levels of violence observed along the border regions of Mexico and the United States.

During the training, personnel learned advanced investigative techniques and gained a foundational understanding of transnational and domestic drug cartels, including their structure, history, and operational methods. The course focused on major Mexican Cartels and provided insight into how these organizations operate and evolve.

We are committed to the continued development of our officers and dedicated to providing training opportunities that enhance their knowledge, skills, and ability to serve our community effectively.

We were proud to host and train alongside our Mississippi law enforcement partners from the Long Beach Police Department, Gulfport Police Department, Pascagoula Police Department, Picayune Police Department, Ellisville Police Department, Reservoir Police Department, Poplarville Police Department, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Covington County Sheriff’s Office, South Mississippi Metro Enforcement and the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

We also welcomed officers from Alabama agencies, including the Mobile Police Department, Albertville Police Department, and Chickasaw Police Department, as well as officers from the Fulton County Police Department in Georgia.

A special thank you to PJ’s Coffee for providing refreshments for the class. ☕

We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and strengthen partnerships across agencies to better serve our communities.
