Congratulations and welcome to Hancock County!

Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission is pleased to announce that Liberty Alliance, a leading defense, technology, and aerospace service provider, has officially selected Hancock County for its latest expansion executing a long-term lease for over 34,000SF of hangar space. The growth initiative will bring 13 to 15 new jobs to the area as the company establishes operations at Stennis International Airport and short-term usage at McDonald Business Center at Port Bienville Industrial Park.

This comes with a dynamic schedule of ongoing propulsion tests.

Depending on weather conditions like wind or cloud cover, you may occasionally hear or feel a rumble in surrounding communities.

This is why a test may be heard one day, while a similar one on another day may not be heard at all.

NASA regularly measures and evaluates noise levels to ensure they remain within safe exposure limits.

We value the community support along the Gulf Coast region, as we carry out work in a safe and responsible manner.

They joined a delegation from Mississippi and Louisiana in Washington, D.C., meeting with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for full funding of NASA’s budget and continued investment in human space exploration.

Partners for Stennis & Michoud continues to proudly represent Hancock County.

This week members of Partners for Stennis & Michoud hit the Hill as part of a national coalition, Citizens for Space Exploration. They met with 14 Congressional Offices from LA and MS to advocate fot a fully funded NASA budget and express appreciation to our Congressional Delegation for their unwavering support. Thanks to our team, Michael McDaniel of L3Harris, John Masaveg of Lockheed Martin, Tish Williams of Partners, Chris Jung from Ole Miss, and Kate Daly from Tulane.

The launch team at NASA's Kennedy Space Center are GO to begin filling the Artemis II rocket with fuel.

Countdown has started for launch.

The launch control team recently arrived at their stations and the official countdown for the launch of the Artemis II mission began at 4:44 p.m. EDT (2044 UTC). Teams will begin methodically going through the launch countdown checklist to prepare for the liftoff of the crewed lunar mission — currently scheduled for no earlier than 6:24 p.m. EDT (2224 UTC) on Wednesday, April 1.

The forecast shows an 80% chance of favorable weather conditions.
