The members of Bay Shore Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance extend our heartfelt condolences to the members of Exchange Ambulance and the Stark family on the passing of Ex-Chief and Life Member Bruce J. Stark.

Chief Stark devoted decades of selfless service to his community, beginning as a Youth Squad member and ultimately leading his organization as Chief. His dedication to emergency medical services and the countless lives he touched throughout his years of service will be remembered with great respect and gratitude.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

This Sunday, our dedicated crew spent time sharpening one of the most important skills in EMS—safe patient lifting and moving.

Every call is different and safely moving patients requires teamwork, communication, proper technique, and ongoing practice. Training not only helps protect our patients from further injury, but also reduces the risk of injury to our providers, ensuring they can continue serving our community when they’re needed most.

A huge thank you to our Sunday crew for taking the time to train, learn, and strengthen these essential skills. We are proud of your dedication and grateful for the professionalism you bring to every shift!

🚒 2026 Suffolk County Volunteer Firefighters Parade 🚒
The Bay Shore Fire Department is proud to welcome volunteer firefighters from across Suffolk County as we host the 2026 Suffolk County Volunteer Firefighters Parade on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Beginning at 5:30 PM, fire departments from throughout the county will proudly march down Main Street in Bay Shore, concluding at the Great South Bay YMCA.
⚠️ Please be advised: Expect road closures, traffic delays, and a heavy fire department presence throughout the downtown area between 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM. We encourage everyone to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible.
Come out, line Main Street, and help us honor the dedication, tradition, and service of Suffolk County’s volunteer firefighters. We look forward to celebrating with our community!
