On June 8, 2026 at 5:51 pm, BVPD observed a male subject in the area of Wolf Road and Bracken Way who was confirmed to have an active warrant through Bay Village. The officer made contact with the individual and placed him under arrest without incident. The male was transported to BVPD Jail for booking and held until seen by the judge.

On June 8, 2026 at 9:36 BVPD stopped a juvenile operating an E-bike in the area of Wolf Road and Dover Center Road. The juvenile was advised of the violations and issued a verbal warning. The juvenile’s parent was notified of the stop.

On June 9, 2026 at 11:08, BVPD observed a dog inside a vehicle at Heinens. Officers were able to locate the female inside and she was given a verbal warning for the violation.

On June 10, 2026 at 4:30 pm, BVPD located a vehicle at Huntington Beach that had been entered in connection with a missing person report. Officers subsequently located the individual on the beach and made contact without incident. The individual was spoken with and found to be safe. The Cleveland Police Department was notified of the contact and updated status.

On June 11, 2026 at 2:37 am, A resident on Glen Park contacted the Bay Village Police Department to report a motion sensor light that had been activated for an extended period of time and concern that someone may have been inside a nearby vehicle. Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle in question. The vehicle was found to be secure and showed no signs of entry or disturbance. Officers conducted a check of the surrounding area and found no individuals or suspicious activity.

On June 11, 2026 at 12:00 pm, BVPD responded to the Lake Forest regarding a complaint of an unpermitted solicitor. Upon arrival, officers located the individual in question and conducted an investigation. It was determined that the male was engaging in solicitation without the required permit. The male was issued a citation for soliciting without a permit. He will face charges through Rocky River Municipal Court.

On June 11, 2026 at 2:05 pm, BVPD was dispatched to Heinens for an animal complaint. BVPD responded and located the vehicle with a dog inside. The owner was given a verbal warning for the violation.

On June 11, 2026 at 2:38 pm, The Bay Village Police Department was notified by the Parma Police Department of an individual in custody who had an active warrant originating from Bay Village. Officers confirmed the validity of the warrant and responded to meet Parma Police at a designated location. The female subject was taken into custody and transported to BVPD jail for booking. Following processing, she was released after posting bond.

On June 12, 2026 at 3:00 pm, The Bay Village Police Department responded to the Westspring Inn to assist the Westlake Police Department with a report of a missing child. Westlake Police had received a call reporting that a 5-year-old child had wandered away with two other juveniles. Officers from Bay Village assisted in the search and located the children in a nearby wooded area. All three juveniles were found safe and unharmed and were turned over to the WLPD.

On June 13, 2026 at 9:34 am, Officers from the Bay Village Police Department responded to the Welshire Drive area to serve an active warrant. The male subject was located and taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported to the Bay Village Police Department Jail, where he was booked and held on a violation of his release conditions.

On June 13, 2026 at 1:03 pm, The Bay Village Police Department was contacted by the Berea Police Department regarding an individual who was found to have an active warrant through Bay Village. Officers confirmed the validity of the warrant and responded to a designated location to take custody of the individual. The individual was then transported to the BVPD jail. Following booking procedures, the individual was released after posting bond.

On June 13, 2026 at 9:31 pm, Officers responded to the W. Oakland Road area regarding a dispute between neighboring property owners. Both parties advised to their respective attorneys and the building department. Both parties were also instructed to keep the peace while the matter is resolved through the proper legal channels.

On June 14, 2026 at 1:54 am, Officers with the Bay Village Police Department observed a vehicle parked at the Bay Boat Club after park hours. Upon checking the vehicle, officers located two individuals in the rear seat area. During the investigation, officers determined both individuals were under the legal drinking age and appeared to have consumed alcohol. As a result, both were charged with underage consumption and violation of park hours regulations. One individual was released to a parent who responded to the scene. The second individual was transported home by officers and released to a parent. One individual will be charged through Rocky River Municipal Court, while the other will be referred to Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court for further proceedings.

Attention Motorists

Bay Village has been notified that Dover Center from the railroad tracks to Dellwood in Westlake will be closed to southbound traffic from June 16 to June 18, 2026 by the City of Westlake. Traffic, northbound only, will be allowed between the railroad and Dellwood in Westlake on these dates. Southbound traffic for Dover Center is being detoured to Cahoon Road. Thank you for your patience in this regard.

On May 31, 2026 at 2:54 pm, BVPD unit conducted a traffic stop near Columbia/Lake Rd. The registered owner was showing an aggravated menacing warrant through Lakewood PD. The driver was detained while officers confirmed the warrant. Upon verification, the male was transported and turned over to Lakewood PD.

On June 1, 2026 at 5:45 am, BVPD officers were dispatched to the Knickerbocker Apartments regarding an unwanted guest. Apartment staff reported they had located a young male sleeping in the lobby of the building. Officers responded and made contact with the individual. The male was identified and advised he was not permitted to remain on the property. He was issued a trespass warning and left the premises without incident.

On June 2, 2026 at 9:38 pm, BVPD and BVFD personnel responded to Meadow Lane after a resident reported hearing a loud crashing noise from a neighboring residence and requested a welfare check. Upon arrival, first responders made contact with the resident and determined that medical attention was needed. The resident was evaluated by BVFD personnel and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

On June 3, 2026 at 1:56 pm, BVPD conducted a traffic stop near Clague and Wolf roads after observing several violations. The passenger was found to have an active warrant through East Cleveland but they were unable to pick up the violator. After an investigation, the driver was cited for No Operator's License, white light from taillight, and expired registration. The passenger was also cited for transportation of ma*****na. The vehicle was towed and both individuals will face charges through Rocky River Municipal Court.

On June 3, 2026 at 5:37 pm, BVPD responded to the area of Manchester/Narragansett following a report of children climbing on a light fixture. Officers checked the area and initially found no children engaged in unsafe activity. After a follow-up call, officers spoke with the parent of the children involved and advised them of the complaint. The children were given a brief safety talk.

On June 4, 2026 at 8:51 am, A resident reported falling victim to a scam and suffering a significant financial loss. A report was taken and forwarded to the CID for follow-up.

On June 4, 2026 at 2:30 pm, A resident reported a loud party in the area of Osborn Road and Sutcliffe Road. BVPD officers checked the area and found the complaint to be unfounded.

On June 4, 2026 at 7:45 pm, A resident reported an unknown male parked in her driveway, exited his vehicle, checked her mailbox and left. BVPD collected information and video evidence. The incident remains under investigation.

On June 6, 2026 at 11:23 pm, BVPD conducted a traffic stop near Lake/Forestview after observing a traffic violation. Upon speaking with the driver, it was suspected they were under the influence and subsequently arrested for OVI. The driver was transported to BVPD for booking. A breath test was offered and the driver was found to have a BAC of 0.174%. The 19-year-old Avon Lake resident was charged with OVI, OVI Breath, failure to obey a traffic control device, marked lanes, speeding, and underage possession. He will face charges through Rocky River Municipal Court. Two juvenile passengers were cited for underage possession of alcohol, pending review by Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.

On June 6, 2026 at 2:14 am, BVPD conducted a traffic stop near Lake/Douglas after observing a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver, it was suspected they were under the influence. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were offered and the operator was subsequently placed under arrest for OVI. The female was transported back to BVPD to be booked. A breath test was offered; however, the driver refused to provide a breath sample. The 35-year-old Bay Village resident was charged with OVI, marked lanes, and display of plates. She will be facing charges through Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 25, 2026 at 12:34 am, a BVPD officer observed a traffic violation near Lake Road/Lake Forest Drive. The motorcycle rider was issued a citation for violating motorcycle probationary license restrictions. A family member arrived on scene and provided the rider with a helmet. The rider was then advised to proceed directly home. The 24-year-old Westlake resident will face charges through the Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 25, 2026 at 3:20 am, a BVPD checked on a male sleeping in their vehicle on Juneway/ Columbia. The driver checked okay and had been driving from out of town and stopped to rest.

On May 25, 2026 at 4:16 pm, a BVPD officer observed a vehicle whose registered owner had an active felony warrant. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop, and the driver was taken into custody without incident. The warrant was confirmed through the Portage County Sheriff's Office. The male was transported and turned over to Portage County Sheriff's Office.

On May 25, 2026 at 10:07 pm, BVPD officers responded to Huntington Beach to provide mutual aid assistance to Metroparks Police. A report indicated that a single officer was handling a large group of juveniles involved in a verbal dispute. Officers assisted Metroparks Police in dispersing the group and having them leave the beach.

On May 26, 2026 at 8:57 am, a resident on Edinborough Road reported that their vehicle alarm activated during the night. When they went outside to investigate, they observed a male dressed in all black standing at the end of the driveway. The caller was advised to contact BVPD immediately should a similar incident occur in the future. Officers will provide extra patrol and special attention to the area following the report.

On May 26, 2026 at 9:46 am, BVPD received a call from the Service Department reporting that a homeless male had been sitting near the restroom building for several hours. Officers responded and made contact with the individual. The male was asked if he needed any assistance but declined. He was advised of park hours and instructed to contact police if he needed assistance in the future.

On May 26, 2026 at 10:12 am, a BVPD officer observed a traffic violation near Wolf Road and Columbia Road. The driver was issued citations for driving under suspension and operating an unsafe vehicle. The 24-year-old Lorain resident will face charges through the Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 26, 2026 at 4:45 pm, BVPD and BVFD were dispatched to the area of Knickerbocker Road and Fordham Parkway for a report of a possible active fire. Upon arrival, BVPD officers were flagged down by workers in the area, who advised they were contractors conducting sewer line testing. The contractors explained that they were releasing non-toxic smoke into the sewer system to identify potential faults and leaks. While units were on scene, BVFD received an additional call reporting the same activity. The situation was determined to be non-emergency in nature.

On May 26, 2026 at 7:12 pm, BVPD officers responded to Hartman Field for a report of a heated argument at a baseball game. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the dispute was between a parent and a coach. Statements were obtained from the involved parties, and the incident was documented.

On May 26, 2026 at 8:57 pm, BVPD officers responded to a mutual aid request from Metroparks Police regarding a reported large fight in the handicap-access parking lot. Upon arrival, officers found no active disturbance. The reported altercation involving approximately 30 to 40 individuals was not occurring at the time of police response. The area was checked, and no further action was required.

On May 28, 2026 at 12:28 am, BVPD received a call regarding a suspicious occupied vehicle parked on the street. Officers responded and, upon approach, observed two individuals inside the vehicle ingesting a white powdery substance. Both subjects were detained and identified as juveniles. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and evidence was seized. The juveniles were transported to BVPD and subsequently released to their parents. The case will be forwarded to detectives for follow-up investigation.

On May 29, 2026 at 10:27 BVPD received a call for a vehicle pulled over on Douglas Road near East Oviatt Road. Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by a female who reported she had been involved in a motor vehicle accident. Information was collected from the involved parties, and exchange of information was completed.

On May 29, 2026 at 2:55 pm, BVPD received a call from a family member reporting that her brother had been the victim of a scam. Officers responded to the Knickerbocker Apartments to speak with the individuals involved. Upon arrival, the family member was observed speaking by phone with the suspected scammer. The victim had been instructed to withdraw $30,000 from his bank account for later pickup. Fortunately, the victim had not yet gone to the bank and did not suffer any financial loss. Information was gathered, and the family was advised on measures to help prevent future scams.

On May 29, 2026 at 6:38 pm, BVPD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident near Lake Road and Fordham Parkway. A passerby reported that one driver had exited their vehicle and was yelling and possibly experiencing a panic attack. BVPD and BVFD responded to the scene. Information was gathered for a crash report, and the driver was issued citations for following too closely and assured clear distance. The juvenile driver will face charges through Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.

On May 29, 2026 at 11:36 pm, a BVPD while responding to the area for a loud noise complaint observed two vehicles traveling westbound on Wolf Rd at a high rate of speed. Vehicles were stopped and both parties were issued citations for reckless operation.

On May 30, 2026 at 9:59 am, BVPD was flagged down by a male wearing a high-visibility vest in the Knickerbocker Woods area. The worker advised that he and his crew, employed by Norfolk Southern, were installing fiber optic lines near the railroad tracks. He stated that their vehicle had been positioned in an access area at the dead end of the street when two workers were approached by a homeowner who was holding a knife. The workers reported that they moved their vehicle back onto the roadway and contacted their supervisor before observing a police unit in the area and flagging it down for assistance. Officers contacted the involved resident who was advised on the issues created when approaching workers with a knife, regardless of any concerns about individuals on private property. The resident stated he did not know who the workers were, but also acknowledged awareness of ongoing work behind his property in recent days. He was further advised that any similar future behavior could result in criminal charges.

On May 18, 2026 at 6:10am, Bay High maintenance contacted BVPD reporting that a male had attempted to start a fire on the soccer field. The male then left the area northbound toward Longbeach. BVPD responded to the area and located the male. He was identified and known to have mental health issues. The male was charged with criminal damaging, theft, and criminal trespass. He was also conveyed for an involuntary commitment evaluation at a local hospital. The male will be facing charges through Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 18, 2026 at 11:15 am, A driver contacted BVPD to report being involved in a motor vehicle accident near Clague/Lake Rd. The caller advised that the driver of the other vehicle left the scene. BVPD responded and gathered information regarding the incident. Officers conducted a search through Flock Safety and were able to locate the vehicle in question. BVPD issued the driver citations for assured clear distance ahead and stopping after accident. The 29-year-old Avon Lake resident will be facing charges through Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 18, 2026 at 7:53 pm, BVPD received a call from a resident of the Knickerbocker Apartments reporting that her neighbor had thrown alcohol bottles outside her door. Officers responded and spoke with both parties. Both parties were advised to cease contact with one another and to address any further issues through apartment management.

On May 20, 2026 at 2:14 pm, a BVPD unit sitting on a speed complaint observed a traffic violation near Dover/Wolf. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was showing a suspended license. The driver was issued a citation for DUS and speed. The 47-year-old Cleveland resident will be facing charges through Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 20, 2026 at 3:00 pm a BVPD conducted a traffic stop near Lake/Cliff. Upon speaking with the driver, he admitted to not having a driver’s license. The driver was also found to have active warrants through the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and Cleveland PD. The male was detained while the warrants were confirmed. BVPD issued the driver a citation for no operator’s license, then transported and turned him over to MCSO. The 40-year-old Cleveland resident will be facing charges through Rocky River Municipal Court.

On May 21, 2026 at 1:49am, BVPD received a 911 call from a male caller advising that he had walked from Cleveland, was lost, and was not feeling well. Officers located the male near Lake/Vineland. Upon speaking with him, the male stated he was not feeling well and requested EMS. BVFD responded to the scene and transported the male to a local hospital.

On May 21, 2026 at 10:00 am, BVPD received a call from a driver who was following a vehicle northbound on Cahoon. The caller alleged that occupants of the vehicle, described as juveniles, had thrown an object at their car and had followed the vehicle into Westlake. BVPD responded to the area and located the vehicle southbound near Dover/W. Oviatt. A traffic stop was conducted. Upon identifying the driver, officers learned the 15-year-old driver only possessed a temporary permit. The other two occupants were also juveniles. WLPD responded to speak with the occupants and obtain their side of the story. The driver was issued citations, the vehicle was towed, and the juveniles were released to their guardians. The 15-year-old North Olmsted resident will be facing charges through Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.

On May 21, 2026 at 8:00 pm, BVPD received a complaint regarding solicitors in the area. Officers responded and located a male subject near Kimberly/Marvis. The male advised that his company had submitted solicitor permit applications and was under the assumption they were permitted to solicit. He was advised of the city’s solicitation rules and informed that he was past the allowed solicitation hours within the city.

On May 21, 2026 at 9:18 hours BVPD received a call regarding a large tree down across Aldrich/Walmar. Officers responded and confirmed that a large section of a tree had fallen, blocking Aldrich. The tree also partially fell onto a vehicle parked on the street.
BV Service was notified and responded to assess the tree. BV Service advised they would remove the tree in the morning. The homeowners exchanged information, and the area was coned off.

Memorial Day in Bay Village

The women and men of the Bay Village Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe Memorial Day. We would also like to thank and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our liberty.

To honor those who served our country and gave their lives to support our freedom, American Legion Post 385 has organized the 2026 MEMORIAL DAY PARADE & OBSERVANCE

Monday, May 25
Parade steps off from the Huntington Beach Lot at 8:45 am


Stepping off from the Huntington Beach lot, the parade will march west on Lake Road to Lakeside Cemetery, where a brief ceremony will include morning prayer and recognition of the city founders who served our country. The parade will resume east on Lake, to Cahoon Road where they will turn south to end at the Gazebo. A short ceremony will be held at approximately 9:45 a.m. to recognize local honorees and community leaders.

The community is invited to attend these ceremonies and are encouraged to line the parade route along Lake and Cahoon Road. Please provide proper respect for these solemn events, as they are in remembrance of those lost while serving our country.
