Due to Extreme Heat Risk on Thursday, September 3rd, our Football game vs. Contentnea-Savannah has been cancelled. Both teams are working on a rescheduled game, if possible.

PCMS families, we want to make sure there is no confusion regarding the PCHS traffic pattern changes being shared for afternoon dismissal.

There is NO change to the PCMS student pick-up traffic pattern.

PCMS dismisses at 3:05 p.m., and families should continue to enter and follow the same pick-up route you have been using since the beginning of the school year.

The traffic adjustment being made applies only to PCHS student pick-up between 2:55 and 3:05 p.m. At 3:05 p.m., the traffic pattern returns to the current/original route for everyone.

So, PCMS families, nothing changes for you! 💛🖤

What an amazing day to be a Hurricane! As we come to the end of day 1 of the 2026/27 school year, here are a few reminders.

1. Early student pick up ends at 2:35. If your student is being picked up early, it must be before this time.

2. If you are picking up a middle school student in the car riders line, please do not line up before 2:40. High School dismisses first and those parents will need to be able to pick up their student.

3. Both Bus and Car Riders will be released at 3:05.

4. As we prepare for day 2, please be aware that drop off is not until 7:30 and students must be dropped off in the front of the building. No students will be let in the building through the back doors of the Cafeteria.

Pancakes with Principals was a SUCCESS! Mrs. Minor and Mrs. Sutton put their cooking skills to the test and cooked our PCMS teachers breakfast on the last teacher workday before kiddos come back on Monday!!!

🚗 New school, new traffic pattern! 🖤💛

As we get ready to open the doors to our brand-new PCMS/PCHS, we’ve got one more new thing to learn - how to get in and out! 😄

Please take a few minutes to check out the traffic flow map before the first day of school. A little advance planning will help keep everyone moving safely and smoothly during arrival and dismissal. Thank you to the Pamlico County Sheriff's Department for providing an officer to help with traffic flow on highway 55!

We know it may take a few days for all of us to get the hang of it, so pack a little patience, follow the signs and directions, and remember - we’re all rookies at this!

We can’t wait to welcome our Hurricanes to their new school!
