Boat is pulled and I’ve got it all ready to be shrink wrapped. I guess I can now fully say, with a tear or two, goodbye Animaashi Sailing Company, and goodbye to all of you who sailed on her with me over the last 25 years! It was fun to say the least. I will miss this enjoyable gig! Have a wonderful upcoming holiday season and winter 22/23. I hope to see some of you in passing! Be kind and caring to all but especially your loved ones!

Capt. Paul J. Bratti here! This is to be my final year in business. Due to the loss of my wife and partner for the last 36 years and 25 years for my sailing company and the fact that we were, I am, raising my wonderful 9 year old granddaughter, I find it too difficult to sail and be her full time parent without the help of Joyce. I’ve made do this year as I was committed, but have decided to “retire” if there is such a thing. I have thoroughly enjoyed sailing all these years. Taking people out for even a little time to see our Great Lake and the islands has been beyond what words can describe. I thank everyone who has ever gone with me in the past and hope that most of you had a great time as well. I’ve just a few trips more to make this season and then another chapter continues with at present, no end date. I take raising my sweet granddaughter a challenge as important and enjoyable as has been my time as Captain. I’ll change to title, “papa” and continue with this young lady hopefully into her adulthood, and then someday meet up with another wonderful person, my very missed wife, Joy. Sailing isn’t dead in bayfield just because I’m going to be landlocked, there are others that await the arrival of those needing to temporarily set to sea! Again thank you all and I hope that I succeeded in making part time seafarers out of you all.

Sincerely,

Capt. Paul J. Bratti

Well, in a few weeks I’ll put Sarah’s Joy back in the water for my final sailing season. This will be my 25th year with Animaashi Sailing Company. With the recent passing of my wife Joy I find it necessary to have my summers free to be able to better provide for my granddaughter whom I continue to raise. As of June 10th, I’ll retire from my second career job at the Bayfield Schools. This too is to free up time to be better able to get my now 9 year old granddaughter Samara through school and to adulthood. It is my life’s mission till my days are done. I have thoroughly enjoyed my sailing time and know that I’ll miss it as well as all those that went with me throughout my many years operating this little sailing company. So, if you’re wanting to sail a bit this summer come look me up. As often as I’m able to I’ll be ready to go. And, thank you all for so many wonderful memories. Come, Sail Away!

Well, the 2019 sailing season is now at a close. My last sail was last Saturday afternoon and again for the evening. Was almost 60 degrees. Had a really enjoyable sailing season. Sarah’s Joy is now pulled and resting on the hard for the winter. Shrink wrap to be installed soon and I can start having some down time for a few months. If you didn’t get to go this year... there is always next year! I Hope this finds everyone doing well and preparing to enjoy the upcoming holidays and New Year 2020!

The summer sailing season has gone quite well this year. As usual the weather has been a bit persnickety but the sunshine this mid week on is welcomed. My school job starts soon so my sailing times will take on that fall look, evenings trips only for the first few weeks of September as well as weekends through mid October weather permitting, of course. So, if you haven’t found time yet to go for a sail, or your friends have hesitated so far, time is limited. I greatly appreciate those that have gone and look forward still to those who plan to yet this season. So whatch all waiting for? Come, Sail Away!

Well, Animaashi Sailing season #22 is here and I’m in the water and going strong! I hope this past winter treated you all well (it was long and cold this year here in Bayfield). I’m sure most of us, however, are ready for a fun filled summer 2019. If you’re looking for some water fun or know someone or some ones that also are looking please look no further. I’m ready, able, and willing. Go sailing with..... well, me! But, no matter what, go out and have some real honest to goodness fun! Tell em Capt. Paul said so!!!

Well, the 2018 summer sailing season is now at a close. I had a really nice one thanks to all of those that went on a sail with me. To those that missed the boat there is thankfully next year. The boat is up on the hard in Bayfield and the shrinkwrap cover is hopefully being installed this weekend. I’m at my other job (school) and Thanksgiving is around the corner. Who, in their right mind could ask for more? Not me! I’m happy, have a good life, loving my wife and grandkids, and preparing to rest a bit before the snow flies. Dreaming of the next sailing season is not out of the question, however. So, while we all lay a bit low and recover from 2018 rest assured that summer 2019 is not too far away and deserves just a small bit of our affection/attention. Thank you, all my friends and acquaintances. May you all have a wonderful upcoming holiday season and a prosperous, healthy and active 2019. And, please, in 2019, Come - Sailaway!

The season is starting to wind down. What a great season. I thank all if you who have taken a ride with me and tell those that haven’t to get on the boat! The weather has been pretty darn descent and there a a few more weeks of that left before school starts and another summer season goes off the grid. Hope the summer for all of you has gone well too! Thanks everyone! Captain Paul

Hi everyone! I'm starting to think about the new sailing season #21 coming up in another month or so. So much to do, but I'm tired of winter, as many of you must be too, so I actually am looking forward to it. I hope this short note finds all of you doing well and also looking for some warmer weather too! Keep on keeping on and I'll be in touch again soon with a progress report on Animaashi Sailing Company 2018........🏰😀

Well, had my last sail for the season Friday (20th) evening with six lovely and enjoyable people. The winds and temperature were perfect. What a way to finish up my 20th season. It was a pretty good season all together. Lots of rain this year, more than usual but it’s to be expected. I thank all that went and invite even out more for next year! May every one have a great upcoming holiday season and a warm and cozy winter. See ya ( I hope ) next year!

Summer 2017 is here! I am in the water, and had a sail already to help clear the cobwebs of a now distant winter. Sarah's Joy looks good and performed well. My official start date this year begins June 9th. If your up in the region and looking to be on the water please give me a call and let's go sailing. If you have friends or family making a trip up please let them know of something fun to do (sailing of course) along with many other things that this area offers all summer long. I appreciate all of you my dear friends and sure hope to see some of you again this sailing season. Stop and say hi and if time permits let's get some time out on the water of this majestic Great Lake called Gitchi Gumi, also known as Lake Superior! Happy Summer.
