❗E-BIKE SAFETY & ORDINANCE UPDATE ❗

In an effort to further our campaign of awareness and education, the Bayonne Police Department is disseminating this informational flyer outlining the updated City of Bayonne ordinance governing the operation of e-bikes, motorized bicycles, and scooters within our community.

The updated ordinance is currently in effect and enforceable. Officers of the Bayonne Police Department will be conducting enforcement efforts throughout the city. Until the new State laws take effect on July 19, 2026, officers will be stopping riders who are found to be in violation of the ordinance to provide education and issue warnings regarding the applicable regulations.

Our goal is to promote safe and responsible operation of these devices while ensuring the safety of all residents, pedestrians, and motorists.

We encourage all riders and parents to review the attached flyer and become familiar with the current requirements before operating an e-bike, motorized bicycle, or scooter within the City of Bayonne.
