Do you need help with an online application? Do you want to set up an email account but don’t know how? Do you need assistance with tracing your family tree?

Why not try the Bayonne Public Library’s “Book A Librarian” service! All appointments are on Thursday evenings between 5:30 and 7:30 pm.

Bayonne patrons may schedule a 45-minute appointment for individualized assistance on a variety of topics.

We can help with:
Online applications
Research including local history & genealogy
Using Library resources such as databases, ebooks, streaming TV & movies, and Mango Languages
Setting up an email account
Scanning & emailing a document
And many other topics!

Appointments are available to patrons with a valid Bayonne Public Library card in good standing.

Have a burning tech question, but we haven’t covered the issue in one of our tech classes yet?

Bayonne Public Library can help! Some Thursdays in September from 2:30-3:30 pm in the Small Programming Room, we will be offering a Tech Thursday class with our Adult Services Librarian, Bill Fischer. The following classes will be offered in September:

September 3 - Ask Me Anything
September 10 - Ask Me Anything
September 17 - No class
September 24 - No class

Feel free to attend one - or all! - of our Tech Thursdays classes! During our Ask Me Anything class, you can ask any miscellaneous tech related questions that you might have! Advanced registration is preferred, but walk-ins will be accommodated if possible.

Stop by to meet some wonderful cats hoping to find their forever families. We will have kittens, adults, and senior cats. Whether you’re looking for a playful baby, a calm companion, or your new best friend, there’s a cat waiting for you!

Sunspire Cafe will be popping up in the Lobby offering some fun cat-themed drinks for sale.

Your support - whether through adoption, donation, or simply spreading the word - helps Furvana Cat Rescue continue their mission of giving these deserving cats a second chance at life. Join Bayonne Public Library and Mamas in Bayonne for our September 2026 Bayonne Book Club!

All are welcomed and encouraged to attend. The genre / theme of the books chosen will vary. The discussions will be moderated by Bayonne local, Angela van Genderen ().

This month’s meeting will be Thursday, September 24th at 7 pm in the Small Programming Room on the 2nd Floor at the Bayonne Public Library. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be reading “Bochica” by Carolina Florez-Cerchiaro.

Attendees can join in-person or virtually via Zoom. To attend virtually, please sign up via the library calendar event listing.

What’s the book about? In 1923 Soacha, Colombia, La Casona—an opulent mansion perched above the legendary Salto del Tequendama waterfall—was once home to Antonia and her family, who settle in despite their constant nightmares and the house’s malevolent spirit. But tragedy strikes when Antonia’s mother takes a fatal fall into El Salto and her father, consumed by grief, attempts to burn the house down with Antonia still inside. Three years later, haunted by disturbing dreams and cryptic journal entries from her late mother, Antonia is drawn back to her childhood home when it is converted into a luxurious hotel. As Antonia confronts her fragmented memories and the dark history of the estate, she wrestles with unsettling questions she can no longer ignore: Was her mother’s death by her own hands, or was it by someone else’s?

There will be clinics from 1 to 5 pm (Nov & Dec) OR 2 to 5 pm (Sept & Oct) in the 2nd Floor Gallery on the following Tuesdays:

This program is brought to you by the Hudson Regional Health Commission (HRHC) and the Bayonne Health Department.
All the recommended childhood vaccinations required for school are available free of charge for children ages 18 and under without health insurance. Available vaccinations include: COVID-19, DTaP, Hepatitis A&B, HPV, Flu, Polio, MMR, Rotavirus, Varicella, RSV, and more.

You must have no insurance OR be eligible for Medicaid OR be part of NJ FamilyCare Plan A
You must be 18 years old and under

Advanced registration is required. Register by going to https://hudsonregional.gov/vfc You will be contacted by an HRHC representative to confirm your eligibility and schedule your appointment! Registration closes one week prior to the clinic.

Join us at the Bayonne Public Library on Thursday, August 27th at 6:30 pm in the Gallery for a very special show: “Gems Rock”!

In this archaeology-oriented geology and mineral program, explore the glittering legacy of ancient civilizations through hands-on excavation and rare gemstone finds!
