Seniors in Mrs. Pintar’s AP Literature class took a trip down memory lane during one of their final days together, gathering in the library for a special read-aloud reminiscent of their elementary school years.

Gathered on the carpet, students listened as high school librarian Mrs. Petrosino read “Will the Pigeon Graduate?” by Mo Willems aloud. After the story, students got creative by making handprint pigeon artwork. Using their own painted handprints for the body and cutout pieces for the details, each student designed their own pigeon and completed the prompt, “I am ready…” with a personal message about what lies ahead after high school.

From sitting “criss-cross applesauce” on the carpet to college and career plans, the experience marked a full-circle moment for the seniors as they prepare to turn the page to what’s next.💙📚

On May 28th, the top scholars of Suffolk County were celebrated at the 32nd annual SCSSA Valedictorian Luncheon at Villa Lombardi's. We are incredibly proud to celebrate our very own BBP Class of 2026 Valedictorian, JT Swan! JT has shown years of unwavering dedication, leadership, and hard work, and it is wonderful to see his achievements recognized alongside the best of the best in Suffolk County. Congratulations, JT! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next. 🎓🌟👏

Bayport-Blue Point High School’s track came alive with energy and excitement as Academy Street students took part in the annual Carly Fun Run. The beloved event honors the legacy of former Academy Street student Carly LeStrange and continues to spread her message that “kindness matters.”

Each year, students, staff and families come together to support the Carly LeStrange Scholarship Fund, with proceeds benefiting a graduating Bayport-Blue Point High School senior who best exemplifies Carly’s compassion and commitment to kindness.
