Another scorcher in D.C. called for a smart strategy: mixing air-conditioned museums with classic monuments!

Troop 113 ducked indoors to explore interactive history at the Smithsonian and test their stealth skills at the Spy Museum. Outdoors, they hit the trail to visit the iconic Thomas Jefferson Memorial and FDR Memorial.

Tomorrow, a quick train ride to BWI and a flight home. πŸš†βœˆοΈ

Troop 113 braved a scorching hot day to cover some miles in the capital. They took in a towering view at the Washington Monument, walked the Reflecting Pool, cooled down at the WWII Memorial and visited several other sites before calling it a day.

Today, Troop 113 crossed the Potomac to visit some of our nation's most sacred grounds.

They visited the Iwo Jima Memorial (USMC War Memorial), Arlington National Cemetery (pictured standing inside the Memorial Amphitheater), and paused by the historic USS Maine Memorial Mast amongst other landmarks.

It was a day filled with history, respect, and reflection.

Day 2 has Troop 113 scouts and leaders exploring the heart of D.C. They got an up-close look at the U.S. Capitol building. It’s an amazing opportunity for these scouts to see how our government works firsthand.
