Yesterday, Engine 3 responded along with 40 plus fire departments to assist the Central Islip Fire Department with a serious fire in a row of businesses along Suffolk Avenue. Bayport also sent our Fire Police unit to assist with major traffic issues. Nice job by all.

🚨❄️ WINTER STORM SAFETY REMINDER ❄️🚨

Snowstorms don’t stop emergencies — but buried fire hydrants can slow help when every second counts.

🧯 PLEASE HELP US BY CLEARING FIRE HYDRANTS NEAR YOUR HOME:
✅ Clear at least 3 feet around the hydrant
✅ Make a clear path to the street
✅ Make sure it’s visible from all sides

- A few minutes of shoveling can save lives and help firefighters do their job faster.

🚗 DRIVE SAFELY DURING THE STORM:
⚠️ Slow down
⚠️ Increase following distance
⚠️ Watch for emergency vehicles and plows
