If any homeowners out there have ash trees that resemble this picture in their yard, now is the time for removal. Dead or dying ash trees infected with EAB are considered a public nuisance under city code. A completely dead ash tree may pose multiple hazards to your property and neighboring properties. Neglecting a dead tree on your property that poses a threat to neighboring properties could be considered a liability and should be immediately removed.

The Minnesota State Patrol has confirmed they will be landing a helicopter at Lakeside Park (weather permitting) for approximately 45 minutes between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4th!

On the eve of our inaugural Women Explore Fire Day in Minnesota, it feels especially meaningful to share that the Governor has officially proclaimed Saturday, May 2, 2026, as Women Explore Fire Day in Minnesota.

This recognition reflects the unity and collaboration behind this effort—so many people across the state coming together to make this day possible.

To those who have served in the fire service, those who are serving today, and those who will be joining us tomorrow to see if this path is for you, along with all of our supporters, we stand together. Together, we continue to find meaningful and creative ways to serve our communities and neighbors to the very best of our ability.

Tomorrow, we are united as Minnesotans for an important purpose: to ensure our communities’ calls are answered and that our fire service reflects the people we serve.
